Steve Palumbo: Oiler And Avalanche - A Classic Series In The Making?
- Steven Palumbo

Kuemper has a .904 save % in these playoffs and a career .910 save % in the playoffs.

Smith on the other hand is .927 in these playoffs and career .930.

I give the advantage in net to Edmonton. I give the advantage on D to Colorado. Both great offenses but I still give the Oilers the advantage there.

Colorado has home ice which in the end makes for a pretty even series.

You forgot to add Mike Smith is playing at Max. Darcy Kuemper has yet another gear to use if he can find it. If he does..... Edmonton is done. Colorado is also far more potent in front of the net than Smith has seen all playoffs out Calgary and LA. Hoping to witness the hockey battle of all time. Best of luck to both teams. Unfortunately I think Edmonton will not only battle Colorado in this one but the refs and Bettman as well for reasons I won't get into.

I think the Avs should take this in 5 or 6. We have the overall better depth of O and D. Goaltending is about even

I am surprised Edm made it this far. While I commend their efforts, the Avs are a very different team compared to LA and Calgary. Colorado is deeper in every position and Smith likely remembers what happened last year against this team.

Should be fun to watch.

LA was barely a playoff team. Calgary has played like poop for a month leading up to the oil series. I don’t think they’re nearly the opponent the blues were. Avs in 5.

I had my volume muted, can someone please explain to me how that was considered on side? I mean it looked pretty cut and dry offside to me.

Tag up rule, Makar pushed it into the zone and didn't touch it, nor cross into the zone himself until Nuke touched up

With that goal, it happened in the game against Carolina in the regular season, weird enough situation and to happen twice (on both sides) for the Avs is something

Least with pond hockey, we have the better depth, so should work in our advantage, right? lol

Yeah, as long as the stars actually participate I believe we should outscore them. And I'm not trying to count my chickens before they hatch or anything, but can you imagine this flying circus crap working against Tampa?

Also somehow I actually feel better with Frank in net, though I still catch myself thinking, "we ONLY have a 3 goal lead..."

Oh ya, they better not try to turtle in the 3rd, keep the pressure up and pot a couple more if you can

*Edit* As for the Tampa part, let's just make it there first

I don't think they will. They look like they want to score as many goals as they can.

I know, I know, because the first time we lose a game in this series someone is going to come in here and run their mouth because I said the stupid thing again. I'm not saying, I'm just SAYING, you know?

Koskinen with a .952 sp in relief, Franky with a .857. These numbers speak for themselves.

That NHL explanation was pathetic.

He had control before he entered the zone. There's no way they should have a stupid loop-hole "it wasn't on his stick".

What a cop-out.
