Beauvillier and Baily are trade candidates. Maybe they will have their bounce-back on another team.

In order to bounce back they would’ve had to have been in a good place before.

Because of big contracts too many guaranteed spots upfront without the results. Also injuries may indicate poor training and not being ready. They could become the typical complacent vet team with little horizon for young forwards. May be time to shake up the chemistry. Hopefully Lambert is not a Gumby for the vets. The Torts approach is to make these guys work their asses off and come into camp showing what they've got. Injuries along with poor performance are usually a sign of poor training. Also, what's the horizon for the fourth line?

Wouldn’t have been nice to actually know which Islanders was pursued at trade deadline? I’m sure there were things we didn’t hear about.

Once the Islanders fell behind and out of the running Lou could have dumped and bought in the future to see what we have. Lou missed this season to pull resources together. Was Palmieri wanted somewhere, if yes he should be gone if no then we have a problem.

Palmieri has a full no-trade clause, so unless he wanted to leave in the first year of his extension then he wasn't going anywhere

Hopefully Lou and Assistant Player GM Barzal will have a summer of shat signings as Lou did in 2018. There will be a ton of pissing and moaning from the Internet Hockey GM's but all will be fine.

What kind of players does everyone think Barzal will target this offseason? Does he make a big move at the draft?

Do you think a package of either:

Wahlstrom and a 1st or Räty and a 1st, get it done for Fiala?

Hopefully more 4th line type players. Barzal and Wally are not paid to be offensive players. They are paid to be 4th line chip and case grinders. It makes no sense to try to build around your best offensive player. Look at all the success the Isles had against teams like the Canes and Tampa in the playoffs. Why change anything? We just need minor tweaks. Look at the success the Rangers are having with all their 4th line players and lack of young talent. Islanders just have the bad luck of drafting the wrong young players and especially at forward.

Wild writer for The Athletic had an article yesterday talking about what they could expect to get in return for him and posted some comparable RFA trades and the return from recent years:

So I'd guess something in the neighborhood of one of these

You sound like an internet GM. Why don’t we just wait and see what Barzal comes up with before we start complaining.

Forget Bazal. He is easily replaced. We have plenty of big name forwards looking to sign with the Isles.

I am curious to see how he does in Bridgeport. He's pretty small but has quite a bit of skill (allegedly)

He can certainly take a beating
