zero expectations for Ginning. Hasn't progressed all that much in Europe. Big Kjell will no doubt have him ready.
Bill if he wasn't 6'3 would the flyers have signed him in your opinion? Or if he was a 6th rd pick?
-Hello its me 2050
Outside of the NHL, the Swedish Hockey League is considered to be one of the premier hockey leagues in the world alongside the KHL, NLA, and the AHL. I would think if Ginning held his own in the SHL its a good idea to sign him and see what he can do in the AHL, don't you? |

Are there any coaching candidates out there that don’t prioritize “puck possession”.
Why even write or talk about that. Who is going to say “you know we’d like to have the puck but it’s not up there on our priority list” |

You have to win puck battles and have guys that can carry the puck. The Flyers lack both. |

If he hadn't been a 2nd round pick, I am not positive he'd have been signed, no. But he was good in the playoffs for FBK, and that probably clinched it on top of where he was drafted and his size. |

Those Panthers sure looked unimpressive last night. In fact, they really haven't looked all that impressive during this playoff run. These Cats used up 7 of their lives to get by the Caps and easily could have lost that series with a few bounces of the puck going against them. Ruh Roh! The bloom has come off the rose. |

holding your own is not a great endorsement in any way. Spent 4 years in sweden and on the bottom pair. Where is the upward trajectory?
Sure sign him as not much to lose, though as i said if he was a 6th rd pick would he be signed?
Though this reeks of the flyer hockey mantra all the way. Size and alleged physicality.

Thanks. Nothing wrong with giving a look. The size mantra cracks me up. The flyers will never get it at the end of the day.

This past season, playing for SHL champion Färjestad, Ginning averaged 17:49 of ice time in 55 regular season games (1g, 4a, 42 PIM, E, 35 SOG) and 19:11 TOI in 19 playoff matches (3g, 2a, 2 PIM, +5, 26 SOG). - bmeltzer
Thanks for this info. More playing time than most make it sound like.

I have very low expectations for Ginning, but I guess someone's gotta play for the Phantoms. As it stands they could have a top 6 of prospect dmen before signing any AHL vets.

That's what I thought, those aren't typical bottom pair minutes. |

While I fully expect Attard and Zamula to get NHL time next season, for planning purposes, I hope it looks more like this.

The will have at least 1 vet. As they probably should. Wont be shocked in the least if hogberg goes back to Europe. Also wont be shocked if Zamula is traded.

Especially for a young defenseman playing on the top SHL team. They also trusted Ginning with more minutes in the playoffs.
I'm not saying Ginning is our saving grace. But he is a decent prospect with some good tools. Maybe we can develop him into a useful player for us. |

If I had any confidence in our ability to develop anyone into a reasonable facsimile of a Hockey player, I’d say Ginny ugh, could be a potential NHLer.

17 + minutes are not bottom pair minutes? Then what are bottom pair minutes in the Sweden league?
Where did he rank on the D in terms of minutes played? |

Still no coach…?
Tells me Trotzky is going to Lost Wages.
They have a team that plays with some passion. |
