I wonder what that last tweet was supposed to be... he redid the Zucker one twice (until he fixes it)

So DeSmith had a groin injury for six weeks? And the franchise never addressed this at the trade deadline. Very odd.

Kappy can go sign elsewhere.

If you tear it down are you trading Crosby? That’s the elephant in the room if you will.

IDK, I'm not really tearing it down. But I'm not trading 1sy round picks in the off-season anymore either.

I'm not either. It does not bother me to see a Pittsburgh great playing in another jersey. Especially if I believe it will bring a winner back sooner than later.

As far as Feds question.... The last thing I want to watch is Sidney Crosby trying to prop up a bad team.

Even if it’s along the lines of say Kap and a 1st for Fiala?

He has NHL tools in an OHL tool box.

Sounds like Gauthier for the Rangers, or Chytil

I did keep getting him mixed up with Heinen 42-43 I guess.

The cap isnt projected to go up much at all. But we should basically swap Letang and Malkins cap and somehow bring in more top 6 talent so Malkin can play better? And have room to fix the rest of the roster......2023 first round exit.

It's cool. It's clear you don't understand how to hockey. The fire in your cave is dwindling, best get back to it.

Players with a better 5v5 goal differential than Malkin in round 1: Forsling, Barkov, McDavid, DeAngelo, and Slavin.

The part on Kapanen here is a bit mean spirited. Kapanen stinks, that doesn’t automatically mean he’s a lazy POS that doesn’t care like RW implies.

That said we need to move on from Kap without taking any cap back. I’d rather not qualify him than trade him for something useful but have to take a contract back.

The Pens absolutely need to move on. Even if he signed a $1M contract I don’t think he’s a useful player on this team.

That said, I don’t think he’s lazy or doesn’t care. There was a small stretch where he kind of slept through things, but that was short lived. He’s just not able to put it together.

I’ve said this a few times, but he’s Galchenyuk 2.0.

It is mean spirited. Not wrong but definitely mean spirited. Rw likes to spew out they spent two 1sts on him … I kinda renember it being one first. The other was spent on two cups and poj.

If youre going to rebuild, do it completely. Too many rebuilds are hampered by half-@ss attempts where the team is finishing just outside the playoffs and then you're screwed. Too good to get a top 5 pick and too bad to qualify for the playoffs. Not to mention, the rules now limiting how far up you can move in the lottery and how you're limited to 1 #1 overall pick means rebuilding is a lot harder than it used to be. I think people remember our last rebuild and think its that easier when in reality, we got a once in a lifetime chance. Look at teams in the NHL that are still rebuilding, years after they started and are still struggling.

With FSG, there is zero appetite to do that. I have a hard time believing they paid what they paid to start over. If they wanted to do that, they would've waited a few years or bought a different team. I have to think they bought this team because of the infrastructure in place with their core guys.

As I said in an earlier page, send an offer sheet to a RFA. You might need to get your 2023 3rd round pick back, but you could send an offer sheet to a guy whose team is against the cap. With how much randomness is built into the draft, I'd much rather spend a 1st pick on a young established NHL player than just trading them for the Derrick Brassards of the world.

Well they selected him with a 1st round pick and then spent a first round pick to reaquire him, so they technically spent 2 first round picks but yeah I agree with you, shipping him for the Thrill totally worth it.

"Fleury says he “definitely” would like to re-sign with the #mnwild. Obviously takes two sides, so if it doesn’t work out here, he’ll enter free agency. He maintains he wants to play next season."

Not sure if everyone saw this yet, or not. But Fleury as our 2nd goalie does not look likely....

I just put him because whatever, I didn't really expect him to come back. Whoever pointed out earlier, why would he want to come back to the coach who benched him twice? lol

It’s just one of those “right on a technicality” kinda comments that betrays he’s just agenda thumping. We didn’t “waste” the first first on Kapanen. He was viewed as a good late first round caliber prospect at the time and then we used him to get Phil. You only say we “wasted” two firsts on him if you’re just looking to string a sentence together to hammer home that he sucks, which he does, but come on man.
