Trouba has been this way since joining the rangers. Just costly mistakes. Miller carries that pair
Trouba was a +25 with 39 points this season. To me, his play this season justified his contract. Not just the stats, but he was confident, didn’t look as slow as he had, and was a dominating physical presence.
The way he looked against Pitt was like last seasons Trouba. Bad turn overs, picking the wrong time to go in for hit and getting out of position, scrambling in his own end.
Hopefully it was just a glitch/nerves and we see him ease back into his game.

I will give you that Trouba was bad in the Pens series but he was a monster during much of the regular season. Saying he is being carried by Miller is just plain false. I think he's back to trying to do too much. Hopefully they can all simplify parts of their game for this upcoming series.

Trouba was out there constantly against some really good Penguins forwards, it happens
regardless of his turnovers, he's just about as essential a player on the Rangers roster needed to be healthy after Shesterkin as anybody on the team

Even at his peak during the season he’s good 3/4 dman worth $6m maybe. I just prefer a big defenseman but one that can skate and is more of a stay at home type player to play with miller. Trouba eats a lot of minutes so he’s useful right now. If you put trouba with a defenseman that skates like him he would be exposed. Miller covers a lot of gaps bc he skates well even with his mistakes.
Well, they certainly have had NYR's # for a while, BUT so did NYR over Pitt and we all saw what happened. Rangers have just as much talent up front as Cances, and can score in bunches....you probably already knew that
Canes how a more stout D. If Shesty plays like he did in regular season, and NYR tightens up on D zone and turn overs, they can steal the series. Much deeper than Bos, and they took Canes to 7

I think the key here for the Rangers is to rope-a-dope. Theres no reason to try to try to play like Carolina. Were not gonna stop Carolina but we sure as hell can make it hard on them. We need to be an efficient counter puncher. We need to maximize on the opportunities and possessions we get. Play simple hockey, play in front of Igor, hit, keep the feet moving. There are a couple of hot heads on Carolina, we gotta get them to draw penalties.

we struggle terribly against good defensive teams. carolina is the best. i can't think of a good way for this team to counteract that but here's hoping

Well, best thing from 1st round is that NYR didn't give up and fought back almost every game. We have the goalie to carry this team on his back and plenty of firepower that stay in games
