Man this first round has been great. Some great goals, saves, etc. I really miss the days when the Flyers were a team to be reckoned with. |

2 good games last night. Shesterkin and Bobrovsky both look shaky to me. Has there been a Russian goalie that's had good playoff success? Other than Vasilevsky and Khabibulin? |

The fact ESPN hasn't put a call in to Gary Thorne is embarrassing. I have to mute some of these games. Stars/Flames last night sounded like a High School game. |

I hear you. My wife said it sounded like they were announcing golf or tennis. |

Great first round of the playoffs. Every single series is 3-2, I don't recall that happening before. Should be a fun night of hockey. |

ESPN announcers are horrible. |

It's terrible. I don't particularly like Kenny Albert, but besides him and John Forslund these broadcasts are awful. Jackson is doing the Minnesota/St. Louis series for the most part, and compared to some of these announcers he's Vin Scully.

I think Jim Jackson is really good. I got a better appreciation of him listening to him do those games. |

The worst. The TNT/TBS are better, but still not great. I'd like to know how they came up with the people announcing these series.

Fair point. His voice is associated with losing if you watch the Flyers broadcasts, he's better doing non Flyers games.

2 goals in 5 playoff games with Panthers, 2 goals over the last 28 playoff games he played with the Flyers.
Awesome!

I've always liked him. I never got the homerism complaints. He is your team's announcer, he SHOULD be somewhat a homer. And he is nowhere near the homerism of that idiot in Boston.

good thing the flyers took goulborne over Carter Verhaeghe way back when.....looking back what a complete waste. See who went after him the next 15 spots or so.
flyers hockey baby. Glad they resigned that RR as he bleeds orange and black. |

I understand this type of complaint to a point. Goulbourne was a bad pick regardless of where he was taken. But every team passed on Verhaeghe twice and the majority three times. And it was Toronto who picked him.
I'll rip the Flyers all day for who they picked at that spot. But I can't rip them for who they didn't pick after the 2nd round when every other team made the same decision. It's all luck at that point IMO.

You should listen to the Sixers broadcast team. The women they hired to do the play by play makes the game almost unwatchable. She is absolutely brutal.

Yeah, I try but I'm just not a fan. She tries too hard to have catchphrases and it gets distracting.

It was tongue in cheek as it was 10 years ago....

I am with you there.
I loath some fans' notion that a player would have had the same developmental pathway on every team. Neither teams nor players are interchangeable cogs, and there should be a goodness of fit for the player and the team.
That "coulda, shoulda, woulda" is never productive or helpful.
