I saw a tweet that one of the insiders believe it is 50/50 that ruff is back next season for the final year of his contract.

Said most coaches go by how their goaltending goes and the devil's have been in the basement both seasons ruff has been here and that they will be evaluating all coaching staff

They like how he has helped develop Hughes and Bratt and it's said Hughes likes Ruff and his system

People also said the same exact thing after Zacha walked Ekblad in OT to win the season finale in 2018. And that final point is why we got Hughes. We probably end up with Turcotte or something if we dont get that extra point. People need to chill with this poop.

And i hate to break it to you but there likely isnt an 80 point winger in this class, atleast with how its shaping up right now. Wright/Cooley are the safest picks and also have the highest upside, and their ceiling seems to be 70 points.

Some updates:

-The Wysh report is true, about Ruff being 50/50. Coaching changes are likely coming but management is waiting until the offseason to see what is available so they can evaluate potential candidates. If Ruff is let go of the head coaching position, the team still wants him to stay with the team in a development role.

-Fitz is "more than willing" to move the 1st round pick, but obviously wont make any decisions/moves prior to the lottery.

-Bratt's deal has a basic framework done, but like we saw with Dougie its being dragged out by being .5M apart either way, getting on the same page with bonuses, and even an extra year being thrown in.

-Fitz loves what Utica has been doing with the young guys, but the reason why these guys are being brought up is to showcase them for a potential offseason trade.

-In regards to our 1st being in play and showcasing younger guys, Fitz is still very focused on getting a top line or top 6 winger. Outside of goaltending, that is by far his #1 priority that he wants to add prior to next season.

Holtz has been recalled from Utica. The timing of this means his contract will slide and playing the final 2 games will not burn the first year as his ELC.
