Take out MAF’s 1st 5 games and rerun the numbers. The Hawks were just a shut show until they fired Colliton. MAF has a few goalie wins, plus he’s held them in in most games they’ve lost.

The Caps better do something pretty quick to right the ship. Another home loss tonight and with one goal in two games, goal tending is not the pressing issue. However the addition of MAF would certainly shake things up. It is only January but at this point just making the playoffs would be a bonus as I see it.

Holtby has had a great year and it would be a great story. He already knows most of the players, how they bring the puck out of the D zone, etc. There would be a minimal re-acclimation period. It would be as close to seamless as you could get. BUT will Dallas part with him since Bishop retired? Would they want to trad Khodobin instead? Would the Caps be interested in Khodobin?

The Pens fan in me says no, the Flower fan in me just wants him to play somewhere worth a damn.
