Frustrating game but nice to see them pull it out.

Any chance we'll see Austin Rueschoff this year? Two goals yesterday for the Wolfpack. Seems to be coming on a bit lately. 6' 7" monster RW.

Rangers tired team yo

it's amazing, they've played 24 road games and Florida has played 14

so really quirky scheduling this year, and then on top of all the covid cancellations

Yeah, idk how they're gonna make up the "postponed" games.

We often have a significant disparity in home and road games as we get into spring. I think the more unusual thing is that that we will be at home more to finish out the year. Seems like coming down the stretch we always have roads trips amd more games played than those around us. Nice to see it swing the other way.

They do have the 3 weeks they set aside for the Olympics. That should definitely help with the majority of it.

Hey guys, just throwing this out there...

Morgan Barron has won 2/3 (66.7%) of the faceoffs he's taken.

The Chytil center debate should officially be over. He just doesn’t think the game well enough for all of that responsibility. Hopefully he can embrace the change and realize the freedom playing wing gives him to use all of his skill. Worst case he’s raising his trade value again.

Same goes for Mika on the left hash on the PP. That’s his spot, sorry Artemi!

Chytil is frustrating because he has the skills, but it's been a long time since he tried to use any creativity to set up his linemates. I don't remember this shoot from anywhere mentality in the past. He had Strome in the slot last night and tried a shot from along the goal line!!

Agreed. Artemi is nice on the opposite side because he's so good at finding seams that it keeps all options in play.

Obviously a player with his speed and skill can benefit (and has) from playing with Panarin and Strome, however, we gotta think about how that is going to affect Strome and Panarin. Sample size is small and we got 2 months before the deadline. Hopefully they leave it be for now to give this an extended look. If he cant wrap his head around playing with Panarin and Strome, then we just have to hope his stock gets jacked up and we can move him.

As a result of this I really hope Barron get an extended look at 3C between LAF and Goodrow.

Remember before the season, my hope was that Barron could grow into the 3C role next season. I’m not sure that can’t still happen

Im on record here saying several times that I believe that Barron could turn into a Jordan Staal type player. Not as good as Jordan defensively but I think hes got the tools, size and IQ to be a solid 3C.

Why? Good on face offs and was noticable in games he's played. Next year , he just had to show it in training camp

He had a good training camp and had a nice start to the AHL season which continued on after his solid year last year. Hes playing well right now, and with Chytil being productive on wing with Panarin and Strome... no reason why they shouldnt give him an extended look.

Nah, Id like to see LAF, Barron, Goodrow as the 3rd line.

I be ok with giving that a shot. Rooney between Reavo and whoever.
Makes Gauthier the odd man out.

Gauthier hasnt exactly been much of a difference maker. Hes got good speed but outside of those first few games that he and LAF were clicking together hes just out there. Nothing particularly good or bad. Come playoff time we need that 3rd line to be a factor.

Schneider has looked good, I think Jones and Nils could be used as trade bait for a rental if we think we’re close enough to bring a legit contender. I saw a Post article about a week ago with Gallant talking about Schneider and how he brings the type of game he wants, not sure what that means for Nils long term but I don’t think he’s in the plans.

If they could hold onto Jones, I think it would be important moving forward. In the few games that Jones played he looked solid. Hes small but incredibly smart, using his superb skating to make plays. I think we all know about Jones' outlet/first pass. Id like to see Jones play with Trouba for a few games. The contrast between their styles could be interesting to watch.

Everyone is making excuses for Miller and that he's wasnt a natural defenseman when he started playing hockey, however hes got some clear issues. Ive noticed he has these hiccups where he gets turned around, ends up out of position and loses the puck. His stick checking issues are well documented. And for me, the one thing Ive noticed thats really annoying is his lack of shots from the point. When he came here he was advertised to have good offense and a good shot from the point, but whenever I see him with the puck he either doesnt shoot or seems to toss dud's (lobbed shots) at the net. So I went to the stat sheet... 29 shots in 39 games played. That means he has atleast 10 games where he didnt get a shot on net. Thats kinda disappointing.
