Staal has had a terrific career. A class act. The Wild got a lot of production out of him on that 3yr/$9Mil contract. I think the Wild are doing this as a courtesy for Eric for his loyalty. He’s not NHL caliber anymore.
I would say his time in Montreal had uneven results at best. The Habs fans were even less impressed. They called him Stool. Not the respect he deserves.
