"Higher-end” roster player is code for a high AAV NHL'er with a front loaded contract who will help AZ reach the cap floor for the next few years. AZ doesn't want to improve in the standings right now or in the near future. AZ, rather, wants to have a low payroll so they tank and have Wright and Bedard on the 23/24 opening night roster.

the games wasn't that close. The Coyotes really didn't stay with the Jets. If the goalie did play unreal the score would have been allot more lopsided.

Vejmelka was outstanding that game and kept it close for the Yotes. Sometimes you need that.

The Jets are the superior team, and for the score to be 3-1 was unexpected IMO - even if it was Vej shouldering all the weight.

I saw a lot of good things in the way of certain Coyote forwards helping back-check. Keller continues to improve in this area and is becoming a nice two-way player with serious skill.

Things were close there with a minute left, and the score at 2-1, with the Coyotes holding possession in Winnipeg’s zone and the extra attacker. I thought they might actually tie it up.

With the season that the Coyotes are having, a 3-1 loss (really 2-1 if you take away that empty-netter) to a better team, with some bright spots sprinkled in/a stellar goaltending performance, is a positive for this club.

Listed Carter Hutton twice, just an FYI.
