Before the season started I said the Pacific would be way better than all you pundits were saying. I watched Anaheim, LA and San Jose be mostly competitive last season. LA lost a lot of one goal games and were close to a play off spot towards the end. Anaheim adding Zegras and Drysdale and you knew one of four those young forwards was close to break through. They made chances but didnt fibish last year. Add in Gibson, they're a tough out and anything can happen at that point.

San Jose needed at least one of their old dmen to look closer to old form to be above .500. When they finally improved their goaltending that puts them on the edge.

You knew Calgary's been streaky, either great or terrible. You think that Sutter can't adapt to the line up and the line up cant adapt to Sutter. Well, it turns out Sutter can adapt and so can that line up. That's the real surprise.
