For a 3 C that can’t win a face off? Maybe a late 2nd rounder. Donskoi will likely be more sought after than MJ.

Marcus can’t win faceoffs, doesn’t play defense, soft player. The Wild took a flyer on him last year. He got 1st PP minutes and didn’t produce. Those Capital years are long gone. The only positive is that he can play any forward position. Hard pass.

Johansson prefers playing wing. I believe he's worth a 3rd or 4th round pick, That's about all I'd give up. I can't Imagine that Johansson Is the most sought after player on the Kraken.

I really love how it mentions experienced "hos" at "home" playing 3rd line center, and it ends with an ellipsis. And EK is right: most experienced hos probably have the skill set to play a bottom 6 role in the NHL.

Johansson isnt playing center at all. Kraken run Wennberg, Gourde, McCann or more often Geekie up the middle. And Blackwell has done more in returning really on the wing.

Only thing he has going is versatility to play through the lineup and the Kraken’s lack of depth and options. Kraken likely move him but wont be getting a while lot for him and wont be until closer to deadline at that. Donato or Donskoi are more valuable and better trade options IF Francis is going to shake things up. Preferrably Jarnkrok goes but he’s got even less trade value.

So how did Pittsburgh's E4 talks go with Gallagher? I guess not too well as they are now looking at Johansson. And wasn't Calgary about to trade Monihian since he isn't succeeding under Sutter...so why one earth would they target Johansson. The guy is a soft perimeter player that would last about 5 minutes with Sutter. But if sources say Monohonoahan is on the way out and Johansson is maybe coming in then there must be some truth to that.

Also, Johansson might be listed as a center on NHL.com but he doesn't play center anymore.

I took a look at Seattle's faceoffs this year...

Wennberg has taken 303 faceoffs.
Gourde took 175.
Geekie took 150.
Sheahan took 147.
McCann took 87.
Jarnkrok has taken 47.
Schwartz took 15.
Eberle took 9 draws.
Finally we have Marcus Johansson with 7 faceoffs this year. So yeah, if someone needs a 3C this looks like your guy.

In Pittsburgh he's not only a step down from Carter at 3c, but E-Rod - who's FINALLY putting it all together - Not to mention that the Blueger line could easily be considered a 3rd line as they out play most other teams 2nd lines. I think Ek is forgetting that Rutherford is no longer the GM.

Well the premise of the article is that teams are always looking for centers and sources have even named 5 specific teams. But Johansson hasn't played center for awhile now. So this whole things sounds strange.

Maybe the blogger was getting the info from ESPN. The ESPN box score for the Kraken game that just ended lists 7 centers among the 12 Kraken forwards including Johansson. Johansson took 3 face-offs tonight and lost them all. Didn’t watch the game but would guess that he played wing and drew after the center got thrown out.

This is where watching the games is pretty helpful. Also still kinda laughing about Johansson being coached by Sutter. Like there is zero chance of the Flames acquiring him.

He’s worth no more than a 4th or if Seattle is lucky a 3rd. Oh ya he’s not a centre…
