Bill, why is Hart not starting this game, did AV say anything? The season is going to go as Hart does, let the kid roll. It’s not like he saw much rubber Monday either, next game is Saturday. Really don’t agree with starting Jones here, he was brought in to be the backup not a 1B.

I asked AV yesterday about starting Hart with off-days between every game of the homestand and coming off a strong outing on Monday where he made some huge early saves before the Flyers took control. He didn't really say much except that he's going with Jones tonight.

It could work out fine tonight or not work out. We'll see.

Hart had a rough time against Boston last season. But Jones, who hasn't seen the Bruins in a few years minus the preseason this year, struggled against Boston even while playing generally well against the rest of the league during his best years in San Jose (1-3-2, 4.09 GAA, .867 SV%) against Boston for his career.

Keep backup in game ready shape, 1 out of 3 or 4 games for Jones is what they want. If they gave Hart this one and the weekend, it would be almost 2 weeks without a game for jones

So we are giving our starter a week off after the second game, sounds logical

Thanks Bill, would think this is one Hart would want as well as a competitor. Hopefully Jones has a good one

Did Ullmark sign with Boston to be a backup?

Will NAK seal his career this evening?
Will TK lose his stuff?
So far few calls have been made against anyone else for just STUPID.
Keep your tempers in check, kids. The Bruins are not to be trifled with.

Huge difference, they actually have two good goalies. More of an open competition

If Hart is our 1A, he needed to get this start. I understand about slowly building his confidence and he struggled last year against Boston, but he has to put it behind him. Hopefully Jones shows well. Bruins have a tough line-up. He'll need to keep us in the game in the 1st.

Looking forward to Risto.

I think Bassard needs to stay with Cam and Farabee. I don't think he is driving that line, but the chemistry is there. He had that really nice pass on the Ellis goal. I keep them together and ease Hayes back in when he is ready. Oskar-Hayes-JVR is a nice line. I don't care if you call them the 2nd or 3rd line.

FLA is another tough match-up on Saturday. Hart better be ready.

Disappointed that Hart isn’t in goal. Will be a good test for our new D, our PK. Bring the physical game tonight, boys! Let’s Go Flyers 🏒🏒

i hope this happens just to see the people fake complaining over having two 7M players on the 3rd line.

I forgot how bad the Flyers PK was against Boston last season. They really need to play smart tonight.

Weird how AV couldn't give Bill a clear cut answer for starting Jones.

We played strong defensively last game (in my onion). Perhaps AV thinks if we build off that team wide defensive effort it’s an ideal time for Jones to get a look. Excited to see Risto tonight. Also heading to the game!

The Earth will implode...

If we have 3 "scoring" lines all getting relatively the same minutes (at even strength) then that is a plus. I don't give two shats how they are numbered.

When our 4th line is comprised of a combination of Nate-Laughton-MacEwen-NAK-maybe Brown, that's when we will be at our strongest.

Was along the lines of "it's his turn"... and that's fine. If Hart starts two of every three games this season on average, he'll get 55 starts.
