Karine Hains: All About Health For a third season in a row, the NHL activities will be affected by Covid-19. The league and the players’ association have agreed to strict guidelines and protocols which may be an issue for one Habs prospect.

interesting indeed. things have evolved but not that much, too many people still aren't able to understand the concept of mental health and what it implies. then again, if you look at all the disinformation and misconceptions about the vaccine for example, I guess it isn't that surprising that we're evolving at such a slow pace.

RDS had announced a big interview by Chantal Machabée with Jonathan Drouin for Monday the 20th at 7:30 PM, since then, they’ve pulled the adverts about it, and it doesn’t appear in their schedule either, but Harvey-Pinard’s article seems to say that it’s still going ahead.

thanks for the blog Karine. what article exactly are you referring to?

edit: nevermind, I just realized I actually quoted the article in this thread (I thought for a second there it was Rafael Harvey-Pinard lol)

I'd say the issues are different. But both can be rooted in lack of knowledge, cultural + personal beliefs

oh for sure, I wasn't really trying to compare them, just pointing out that it's easy to be misguided or to only look for information that simply confirms the opinions and ideas you already had.

Probably, but how they're treated by the old (frank)s in government are different.

These boomers actually think you need to be crying 24/7 to be condidered depressed. Not to mention the ones who say mental illness isn't real because you can't pin point it on an xray or rest it for 2 weeks along with rubbing a535 on it

they are completely different issues, so of course the way they're perceived and dealt with will be different as well.

that's a good point though on mental illness, since it's basically intangible it will often be frowned upon or scoffed at in a society constantly driven by performance and results.

his "reasons" must be pretty (frank)ing strong for him to not play hockey and miss out on a potential opportunity for his career and development. I always try to respect any point of view that is different from mine but in this case I just don't get it.

I have yet to hear a good reason to categorically refuse the vaccine, unless you have a medical condition that makes it risky to take it.
