Ben Roger also played a good game. But, JBD was clearly best Dman.

Matthew Tkachuk comments don't make a lot of sense. Perhaps, it is just the nature of the Tkachuk clan to be agitators and I think he is just baiting us.

Money does not seem to be the issue. Sens are entirely flexible on term. He can go short or long.

I don't believe his agent would recommend big bonus money up front because it is subject to escrow and a substantial amount will be clawed back this year and next.

I think he is in camp on opening day.

Dorion's comment about Brown at prospect game "Brown needs to establish how he wants to play and be a pro hockey player.” Strange statement to make after signing a player. Feels like a sign and trade.

My McGuire comment at prospect game not Dorion.

Brown's 2021 has consisted of losing an NHL roster spot to Josh Norris, then playing a highly-disrupted season in the AHL where he still managed to get hurt, then playing in a single NHL game for just 9:40, then refusing to sign his QO, then effectively demanding a trade, and then signing a remarkably quiet two-way contract just days before another Senators training camp. What about that suggests to you that Brown has established the kind of NHL player he wants to be?

He signed a two-way contract, so the only thing that would be strange would be for Brown to interpret that as anything but one last golden opportunity to prove what he can do. But make no mistake, he's not being handed anything... Brown absolutely needs to come into camp ready to show he's ready to play in the NHL.

People can whine and cry about the coach not playing him, but Brown has every opportunity to make the team or be cut. Time to sink or swim.

As for Mathew Tkachuk's comment, he can quite honestly go f$%k himself. Is there a more gutless and annoying pr!ck in the entire NHL? I mean this is probably his impression of how best to support his brother in the final days of a tough contract negotiation, but Mathew could learn an awful lot from Brady about how to play the game right, and be a genuine class act.

Agreed. He is a turtling jerk who tries to injure people. The entitlement attitude is sickening.
Meanwhile he was not very good last year. Highly overrated. Brady is better in my view.

Stay calm. A mildly meagre attempt to poke the bear. McGuire has the right response. Meeting again and will get it done at some point. He will be present for Day 1 of training camp.

Wonder if Tkachuk camp is fighting within the family or with their agent or with everyone else?

Not that you don't expect that comment from a Tkachuk, but were you Brady, wouldn't you maybe want to be the one member of the family who bucks the reputational trend? Matthew isn't doing his brother any favours, either with the contract negotiations or the fans.

Per Brown, his agents can cry about how he's been jerked around all they want - dude cannot stay healthy. Shades of Nolan Patrick. Work on that core, because if you're a giant and you fold like a deck of cards with a long term injury after 10 games every season, people are gonna start calling you 'glass' something. We just bought out some glass hands a year ago. Kind of makes me feel bad for Cody Glass.

Seriously though, this team needs C depth, and it is the perfect place for Brown to make serious inroads to the NHL, if only he were to perform. Put your feelings aside, play your best hockey, and don't get injured for the season - at the very least you will work your way up to having trade value again.

I can live with 70 games a year from Brown. The average is about 10 games a year missed because of injury.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this deal mean that Logan Brown has to clear waivers if he gets sent to the AHL again? So either he makes the team (and the team gives him a fair shot) out of camp, he gets claimed on waivers (very likely) and gets a new start, or it forces the team to get what they can for him rather than lose him for nothing (like Balcers).

Win for the player IMO. And at least the Sens will know what to do with him.

Prediction.....he gets hurt in camp and nobody wins. Cuz that's Logan Brown. Hope he does well tho.

LB may turn out to be the perfect second line center for a second line LW called Tkachuk.

They played really well together two years ago and I'm thinking Timmy gets to be number one LW even this year possibly.

I may be dreaming in Technicolor but so what. What do I know anyway?

Pinto is not ready yet and needs another year in Belleville so it's the perfect time to find out.

Why not have the designated wiener send the public message while you stay quiet and keep your reputation clean? It’s a smart way to ratchet up pressure.

Sounds good on paper. What a difference it would make to the teams center depth if Brown bounced back. He's been pretty much completely written off by everyone when discussing prospect depth.

Then we could let Stuzle play with Norris and Batherson. Could make a big difference having him play with some better linemates. I think he played better when slotted with Pinto?

Anyone else notice the Sens aren't cap compliant as they are presently sitting almost $4 million under the cap floor?

Signing Brady clearly gets them over the cap but if he doesn't sign before the season starts doesn't that force the Sens to pick up some dead cap space or LTIR contract?

Just another way Brady has more power in the negotiations.

Ennis signed to a PTO. Great speed. Good 3/4 line guy. Definitely a DJ kinda player.
