I'm looking forward to seeing the wheels that Avon has. If the flyers can land another undrafted player who can step into an NHL role it would be incredible! I wonder who sends these players to our try outs

I was under the impression that the scouts find them, and that the team extends an invite for them to attend camp.

Finally!! Summer of the brilliance of drunk keyboard GMs is now over!!

Steve Larmer was a guy I think would have been great in Philly.

I personally am looking forward to any in-depth and insightful analysis you can offer once the season starts. I'm on the edge of my seat.

As was said scouts. Also these players have advisers who reach out to teams on their behalf. All about having the contacts.

If van de Leest is signed, it'd more likely be to a minor league contract IMO. He's passed through the draft twice and is eligible for an AHL/ECHL contract.

I can’t wait for the season to start to see if this place is really worse than ever or there’s just not much to talk about and it’s been dreadful

I am curious which scouts though.. I imagine there are many who could get the try out offer but how do they narrow down the finalists?
I'm really curious how this works is all... I am just hoping that somebody knows who refers the ATO players
It seems that we have some pretty solid scouts if they keep finding some undrafted gema

See I had no idea about the advisor side of things. I guess there is a lot I need to research about this process

Thanks for the info!

There really has not been much to discuss lately, just standing by waiting for the season to start. The moves have been made, the roster significantly shaken up and set for the season; I really don't see any surprises in camp unless there are injuries. I for one am really looking forward to watching a much improved team and once and for all putting last season behind us!

I've found from the majority of my 15 some years here...the more the team wins the more the people argue about others things non-hockey related.

Bill,
You referred to Avon as a forward. I know it's probably way too early for this question, but based on what you've seen & heard so far, if he were to stick with the organization, do you think they view him as a Center or Wing prospect? Thanks

Eliteprospects has him listed as a Center. 5'11" 174 lbs

You would probably be amazed how many youth hockey players age 14-18 have advisors. Now the real legit top end players with advisors pay no fee. The others anywhere between 3-10k.

The even funnier part is many of these kids are not even near the top of their birth year and think the advisor will make it happen for them. It is an absolute racket.

It's very impressive tbh...
Myers was able to be a piece to bring in a top 2 RHD
Zamula tore up the world's before his injury
Now we have another potential guy who can play?
Do other organizations get to boast about scouting like this?!

Do the flyers have any contract space to sign anyone? Are they at 50?
