Johansson, Fabro, a 1st and LA's 3rd for Eichel. And give him his artificial disc! |

The price is right for Donato for 1M but is the fit right? Donato is shoot first with a good shot. But he is maddeningly inconsistent. I watched him a lot with the Wild and the Sharks. Donato is extremely streaky both in scoring and not scoring. You can expect him to not score a single point for 8-10 games in a row every season. |

I’m more interested in the Donato that took shape in Boston. Let’s give that guy a chance to show himself again. |

Completely agree on Saros, but I've already commented on his situation a couple of times already. Fabbro's contract is about what I expected... I don't know what his future here is at this point, but he's worth at least another year's investment to see if he develops. If he doesn't, he's still young enough that other teams might take some interest in him.
Can't say there's any UFA's I'm interested in. I want to see Poile actually commit to the rebuild and give the young guys a chance to play rather than backing out at the last second and bringing in a couple of fringe 4th liners who can't play.
I'm usually not in the habit of playing fantasy GM and proposing trades, because well... It just leaves you open to looking ridiculous. Just look at any of Ek's blogs and the trade proposals some of the users here propose... It's 95% clown show, and 5% hey, that actually makes a little bit of sense. It's become obvious from most of the fantasy GM's out there that these people clearly overvalue their own players and draft picks, and undervalue players from teams they aren't familiar with. (That that idiot from Philly who was only willing to give up a 4th Rd pick and a no name prospect for Ekholm) Either that, or it's I'll trade all the crap and bad contracts I don't want to you for your best players. Not to mention that everyone's obsessed with *winning* the trade. What's wrong with a deal that actually helps both teams? But no, if your GM isn't swindling the other team, it's somehow a bad trade. It's also lovely how everyone immediately has to decide who won the trade before anyone ever takes the ice. |

Ha well played, Squatchy. I’ve had a lot of people message me about Eichel so I was curious in the response I’d get here. I’m with you though. Let’s start with what we have and see how it works. I remain optimistic with how the season will start with the group we currently have.

I understand the interest in Eichel if you're just looking at the name on the jersey, but anyone whose paid any attention to his situation the last year or two should know it's buyer beware with him right now. Especially considering the ridiculous price Buffalo is asking for him. I obviously don't speak for all Preds fans, but I do think most Preds fans would agree that we're a bit burnt out with these expensive long-term contracts on players who either underproduce, are often injured, or both. |

I'd make that trade and even go up to 2 1st's
He's 24

I think it’s ironic that Donato was traded for Coyle. Both have talent and when they’re on they’re really good. But they both tend to have a lot of games where they play with little passion or urgency.
If I remember correctly, Donato had already been sent down when Minny acquired him from the Bruins. Both guys seem to be what they are when they were traded for each other. Two East Coast guys whose game reminds me of Cali beach boys all laid back and chillin taking in the ambiance of it all.

The most interesting thing for the rest of the Summer other than Saros contract are the potential extensions for Forsberg and Eckholm. If both or either don’t resign the whole year will be about when they will be traded. |
