I'm not worried about ZAR. He doesn't have the counting stats the arbs value so I don't think we're in danger of the arbs giving him something we can't handle by sending guys down to the AHL. With Geno going to LTIR, we have enough wiggle room to start the season, and as long as we're in a place where we can just send guys down to make space, we won't be bent over a barrel by the time its time to activate him, assuming there are no trades which seems pretty likely.

The Geno situation + losing McCann and Tanev has me suddenly not so down on Zucker and actually think (perhaps its more so really hope) that he can form a good line with someone before Geno returns as to make it hard for Sully to put him with Geno. He looked great with Sid, looked good with Carter and its certainly not far fetched to me he could look good with Teddy.

I’d like to see kane in Pitt. He would bring some entertainment. Would be nice if he’d agree to come here. I’m sure the trade would be for anything they can get to get rid of him. He just needs to agree pretty much.

The McCann-Carter-Zucker line was together for a real chunk of change, was excellent, and still got broken up to put Zucker back with Geno. I don't have a ton of faith in this happening especially since we have like no alternate top 9 wingers to put with Malkin.

I used to defend Kane as a kid that just wanted to have fun drinking and gambling with a poop ton of money that he made. He's now been despised by three different locker rooms and all of the noise won't go away into his late twenties. No one should want any part of Evander Kane.

Biggest issue with Zucker is he hasn’t been particularly great with Crosby or Malkin and he’s being paid to be a top 6 guy.

The way he got the boot from Winnipeg was enough for me.

Can't wait to see what Zohorna can do next season. He was very impressive in Wilkes before he jumped up here. He has that C/W flexibility that Sully loves in his bottom 6.
It's going to be interesting to see where Pettersson gets moved. Friedman said the Pens are still actively seeking a trade and that there have been some close deals.

He’s a gambling addict with really no regard for others. NHL is doing an investigation and apparently some Sharks players have told the team they don’t want Kane back.

He’s waiver exempt so you won’t see much of him unless you follow WBS.

I didn't really do enough homework. I thought he was just gambling and going out a lot and pissed off Big Buff. Coaches mismanage young offensive players all the time, so I thought it was just a coach being stupid and him butting heads with a vet in leadership that got him an unfair perception. That old article from Sports Net that goes through the whole timeline of him in Winnipeg paints a really putrid picture of his character.

With Malkin out to start the season he will be fighting for that 12th spot, unless a random prospect crushes it in camp. So I think he does make the opening night roster.

No way. He has to get past too many people Sullivan trusts more than he should, and its not like he's really proved anything so far. I mean, I'd much rather see Zohorna in the lineup than Sam Lafferty just to see what he can do, but that's extremely unlikely.

The underlying stats may say a bit lackluster with both Sid and Geno but the eye test could see that he and Sid were much more cohesive than he and Geno...also more productive. He only had 14 mins at 5 on 5 with Sid this past season haha.

Yeah he was like the 15th/16th forward last season and got a shot due to a load of injuries. I expect him to start in WBS.

For that final spot to start the season it will likely come down to Angello, Zohorna, Lafferty, or O'Connor. I think Lafferty will be his biggest competition, but I can see those two switching in and out for stretches to see who will remain with the club as the 13th forward.

Did Ryan Wilson just say losing Tanev was a bad off-season move? He must really want to push Hextall is bad because RW has been wanting to dump that contract since it was signed.

How do you feel about his production? He does have a shade over 2 pts/60 with Sid and 1.8 with Malkin.

The Roster is going to suck, then after clearing 9.5 million to bring Geno back it’s really going to suck. Especially when it takes him two months to be in game shape.

For me Evander Kane is in the “No way no matter what” category. Like someone already said, he has been despised in three locker rooms already and there are good reasons for that. Now with the gambling and deadbeat dad accusations? Forget it. You’d have to be dumb or insane to trade for a guy like that.

It may be a moot point anyway since he might get banned for life from the NHL if it turns out he bet on hockey.
