I was screaming NEI (NO) at that moment.

He has never lost to Benjamin, 3-0 now.

45.94 is just insane. Take away the hurdles and that's a 42 time...

- 21peter

Crazy impressive.

I only half saw it but it looked like Benjamin's time also beat Warholm's old WR, too? Like, I'm sure he's disappointed to not win but he can't even be angry at his own performance. Warholm just happened to decimate his old WR.

Hyman had 1 point. Nylander had 8 points.

Nylander looks very lazy at times as does Marner, just not as much - So appearance wise Nylander looks a lot more aloof out there (no intensity). Their styles are absolutely different. Marner is a darter/slasher type player. Nylander is not. He relies on flow more.

Nylander floats more for sure.

They both avoid contact at all costs. Very soft.

Marner kills penalties well because he is really gifted at anticipating plays. Mixed with his offensive talent that makes him a threat. He is not a good defensive player though. He’s bad tracking through zones (on way back to defensive end) and looses his man/positioning and puck battles a lot in his own end. Good PK player but even strength not very good defensively.

Nylander is terrible defensively in any situation. Just bad and lazy without the puck.

I do not like either player but value for output - I’d say Nylander is a better ‘keep’.

And Hyman works very hard and just got a laughably bad contract.

I had a problem with him for holding out a few years ago. The more I've thought about it though, that's a Dubas issue.

It was worth it. Willy wanted the draisaitl deal.

“Willie is so soft he only scores from the perimeter.”

Willie starts scoring goals from the “tough to play” areas.
“Willie only scores the easy tap ins from in close”

All this does is make me trust advanced stats less.
- Leafs43

GF% is not an advanced stat.

id call it a basic stat. Hyman was on the ice for 4 goals for and 1 against
4/5 = 80%

I think kids start learning basic percentage skills in grade 4

Oh ok.

So very similar to plus minus (which everyone sh!ts on as a useless stat)

My bad, I should have referred to it as a useless stat as opposed to an advanced stat.

since its 5v5 instead of plus minus which includes other game states, its a bit more meaningful. just over a small 7 game sample...not so much.

but playoffs...so yeah

Sounds like Cizikas is talking about 6 years x 2.5m😳 with NYI

Get on it Kyle!

Also Ryan Murray signed 1 year at 2m😔

Although the term is a bit much (kind of crazy?!), that's a pretty nice AAV. Imagine that, a player taking a hometown discount.

Is there an advanced playoff stat for act of sheer stupidity that leads to a loss in a game or series? For example MAF was doing ok until he coughed up a puck and gifted a goal to the Habs with Montreal about pull Price for the extra attacker.

In this context, I'm referring to Long Island as his de facto hometown. I imagine he actually lives there now.

de facto hometown is a ……. stretch. Long Island Shakedown seems more likely.

Comparing players over a few playoffs playing against different comp doesn’t mean much.

*reason for the original post in jest.
