I still think a Konecny for Gaudreau trade could be in the works. I prefer Atkinson on the first line and TK on line two. Martin Jones is the perfect back up for Carter, if Carter fails I am confident Jones will be ready. Jones is the perfect Dubnyk, Talbot castoffs that turned it around in their careers. I think the forward are pretty much the same as last year but the D should be much stronger and that makes for better forwards. Hopefull a bounce back season for us.

Unless they make another move or something else is added to the deal, the Flyers really don't have the cap space to make a Konecny for Gaudreau deal.

Folks are losing their minds over our “soft” forward group now, imagine we added him..

He is coming in to a backup role now, so I think the reduced workload may help him out a bit.

Doesn’t help when a teammate is betting against his own team. Lol

Well, Larsson just signed for $4M, Ryan Suter signed for $3.65M and Savard signed for $3.5M. To me all these players are better defenseman right now, so I would start with these contracts as comparables. As I posted previously, Sanheim does not deserve a raise and if it goes to arbitration he will not get one. I'd sign him for 2 more years at $3.5M and make him prove to me he is worth more in his next deal. Bottom line is Sanheim's skating is above average and his ceiling is still high, however his offense is spotty, his defensive coverage and 1 on 1 puck battle ability is below average and he is not physical or strong enough. If he wants big money, he needs to significantly improve in these areas before I pay him.

If it goes to arbitration, Sanheim will absolutely get a raise. There is no question about it. You state you'd sign him to 2 more years at 3.5M as if he is an indentured servant that has no say. He would not sign that deal.

Thankfully his best season was 3 years ago, his past two were not much to talk about. I don’t think he eclipses the $4M mark. Those guys you all mentioned are a little old to be good compareables, was more thinking a young guy. Sanheim isn’t in the same stratosphere as Suter, he also probably took a little less to go to a team he thought had a shot.

I see 4-4.25M area for Sanheim.

What’s his next contract? Can’t be much of a raise. Does he sign another prove it deal or get a longer extension. And what do those numbers look like. It I’m Travis. 3.5 to 4 mil for two years. Either prove it to get a good raise or he is just a 2 nd pair d man. How much do they make?

The Flyers filing for arbitration tells a lot. It's not likely a long term situation. Sanheim will likely get a 750K-1M or so raise.

If they go to arbitration, the Flyers win big time! I think Sanheim's camp knows it. Actually right now the Flyers are in complete control of Sanheim, he either takes their deal, or accepts what I believe will be a disappointing arbitration ruling, or sit out and not play at all. Again, he does NOT deserve a raise, he is appropriately compensated for what he has currently brought to this team. If he wants to be paid like an upper echelon defenseman, he better start playing like one!

You have this 100% completely wrong. You are mistaken if you believe the Flyers elected arbitration because they don't think Sanheim deserves a raise. He will get a raise. Do you know what an upper echelon defenseman gets paid? Why are you even mentioning that? Makes no sense.

For the past 2 seasons, Sanheim has scored about 20-25 points, and last season was a -22. Why do you think this player deserves a raise to be paid the same as players like Adam Larsson? IMO, the Flyers have made him a fair offer (whatever it is) that he does not like, but if they go to arbitration Sanheim will lose.

Sanheim is going to be getting a raise and it will be somewhere in the 4M a year range.
You don't know what the offer is but claim they made him a fair offer. You're on record saying that Sanheim doesn't deserve a raise. I don't know what the Flyers offer is either but I guarantee it includes and raise.
