This was a simple, low impact trade that works best for both sides. Dev's have only Carrick as their bottom pairing RD, and Merkley is a guy with some offensive upside, but was getting lost in the mix with all the young talent in the Devs system. I think both players in this trade will get a better shot at cracking the roster with their new teams.

Doug seems to believe that if his goalie could only play like Vasilevsky behind his gaffe prone defense, then they are contenders.

There is no accountability in this organization.

Did I see correctly that they didn't even give him a qualifying offer. Should have asked for a 7th round pick instead of letting the guy walked a free agency LOL. Bleacher Report was the only place that listed the people not qualified so that's my source
