Reinhart is a great player, and mostly everyone thinks so. We're unanimously disappointed by the situation the Sabres created the past 5-7 years.

I assume Zito is working on an extension now since he wasn’t extended in BUF and then traded - probably why it cost what it did?

I have felt for Sabres fans over the years. I don’t understand the disarray in the front office.

I know this is probably a ridiculous thought/thing to say, but I was kind of hoping Buffalo would trade that #1 for a haul -just get wild and mix things up. The idea being you could move it for a potential return of current players to help jumpstart the Sabres. Seems like the “rebuild” has been going on for so long.

What’s your feeling on Power? Do you have confidence he’ll be developed well? Though I think a lot of that is on the individual.

Lastly…where do you stand on Eichel?

Fair enough, it is a legit question. You’ve just been so over the top trying to bash Bennett previously.
Idk, they may start by keeping Bennett centering line 2 with Huberdeau, and put Sam2 on Barkov’s right wing. We’ll see who grabs the reins to 2C, and who is 3C or maybe plays on the wing of 1 or 2 line when they get going again. Q will sort it all out in training camp. They’re going to have 3 lines that can score.

I think that’s exactly why it only cost what it did. He’s currently an unsigned RFA with arbitration rights, and will be UFA next summer if he won’t sign now for longer than this season.
I think Buffalo always had him on divaJack’s wing, never really had a long chance at C until this year when their new coach took over after they fired Krueger.

Zito was interviewed on NHL Channel during the 6th round. He said he talked with Reinhart and his agent and they are open to an extension with the Panthers. No other details mentioned.

He also said that he's very pleased with where the Panthers are and doesn't want to mess too much with the current chemistry.

I think we're officially in win-now mode.

So lines 1+2 to start off the same, with Reinhart massively upgrading the 3rd line? Just as a pedestrian observer, I have to imagine Bennett's got no choice but to go beast mode in the regular season, and as a fair comment from a Flames fan, I've been waiting to see him bring it during the regular season for a while, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out

High talent issues which this team has ‘never’ had. If team stays healthy they have to be top 3 in league for the upcoming season.
