Honestly, I can't figure it out. I'm from Buffalo and I live in Columbus. This place is great. Completely under-the-radar, completely under-rated city.

There's about 25 other NHL cities that are similar/worse.

Regardless, if they get the prima-donnas out of Columbus and can land yet another first round pick in this draft, they will be loaded with high-end talent.

The local Columbus fanbase is hardcore. Extremely loyal and popular.

I find it remarkably similar to that trade in that Columbus is getting a great value package while giving up a good solid value package.

Hockey is the worst with front office hires. I believe ESPN did a study analysis a few years ago and found over 85% of the league front offices were staff from either relatives of other front office members or former players. Nhl front offices are more closed off than the Italian mafia to outsiders.

So true. Heh this is why imo Blake and Luc should not be in charge of anything in LA. Yeah they have some great prospects but those were all no brainer picks. If they had a new GM outside of the organization since Dean, Quick and Brown would have been traded by now. Kopitar would not have this insane contract for a rebuilding team along with Doughty. Lombardi rocked and gave LA our first Cup not once but twice and almost a 3pete. ERAs change but I guess the Kings don't since then. Need outside management and that management to select a coach not McLellan and get someone young with fresh ideas and systems.

Chicago did a heavy overpay on the trade and contract, Chicago had all the leverage on Columbus and didn’t use it
