I also think Ghost is Seattle’s most likely target, however, if they take one of JVR or Voracek it leaves a big hole in the top six as far as an offensive winger. |

Hopefully the rumors are true. See you later Jake. I still do not think Seattle wants Jake though we shall see in a few days.

I saw something posted on Twitter about Seattle selecting Tarasenko and then flipping him to Philadelphia for Voracek +....not sure who it was though? |

I dont see any reason why Seattle would take JVR and they certainly arent taking JV. As far as Ghost goes I think that depends on what high salaried guys they do choose. There are much more appealing guys making money( Price..Tarasenko..Duschene etc for Seattle to choose from over GHOST. Hakstol knows guys like Ghost very well and knows his defensive shortfalls. Still feel they take Hagg been saying that all along. As far as a Tarasenko trade goes why wouldnt the Blues make that rumored trade with the Flyers of JV a 2nd and a 3rd for Tarasenko rather then lose him for nothing?? I do think Fletcher has something in the hopper we will see what it is . As far as Jake goes Bill dont care what he has done over last 10 yrs. Guy is lazy...a total defensive liability..a 14 goal scorer the last 2 yrs ( projected on 82 game schedule) and worth about 4M a yr vs 8.25. If you can unload him do it |

Connor Clifton unprotected by Boston. He'd look good in orange and black. |

Bill,
you left out that Jake is uncoachable. That's my biggest concern. |

I addressed all of the bolded parts at length in the blog. Voracek is NOT lazy. His defensive game is inconsistent. He is a play-maker, not a goal scorer. |

If their goal is to get out from a contract/cap hit why wouldn't they wait for Seattle to take him and leave the rest of their roster alone before being bent over a barrel in a trade since the whole league knows he wants to leave?

I’d sooner take Ryan Johansen than Tarasenko. There’s something not right with that whole Tarasenko thing. |

How many times as a Flyer -- under Laviolette, Berube, Hakstol, Gordon and Vigneault-- has he been a healthy scratch? Zero.
That doesn't speak to being uncoachable. |

I think trading for Tarensenko would be a mistake - corduroy
Probably but the cost to acquire I can live with. |

If Tarasenko has been given clean bill of health, I would make the JV trade. Both players need a change. Flyers need a sniper. Most fans on this board want a " change to the core group". I would wish Jake the best, and move on. I would like to see Giroux play with a true sniper, not to mention the PP could use one. There is also the one less year on the contract if it does not work out.

If Jake was valued around the league they wouldn't find it that difficult to deal him without adding an asset.
I know I know his cap hit and all the other stuff. Cant just be teams don't value him as some on these boards do. |

You said it yourself: it's his cap hit, term and age. That's why. |

look a healthy, in great shape Tarasenko fills a huge void for the Flyers. It would be a skiil set that would help replace a Jake but add that sniper.
If you can't be reasonably sure Tarasenko is healthy and in shape, you have to stay away.
If he is, I think he will have a chip on his shoulder and have a good season. |

that's your opinion Bill. It isn't the only reason. If a team wanted him and thought he was a diff maker they would find a way.

the clean bill of health is going to be important - but if he's just upset at the blues org for how they treated his shoulder and wants to leave - and not that the blues are trying to shop an injured player - the blues aren't really dealing with any leverage at all so I'd risk it. Sniper, change the locker room, one less year. All good things.

That’s makes sense. There’s just something off there. What did St Louis handle so wrong in his eyes that he wants out for? That’s what I want to know. |
