After hockey, J-M returned to Cornell to complete his college degree from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management in the fall of 2011. He completed his remaining credits and graduated 14 years after leaving college to pursue his dream of playing in the NHL. Pelletier then took an executive job with the Lego toy manufacturing company. Pelletier's wife, Anne Heyn, played women's hockey at Cornell, graduating in 1998.

Does it scare anybody else that Fletcher admitted he didn’t really learn anything from the last expansion draft.

That was really the only comment I wasn't happy with. I was very encouraged by most of his other statements. We'll see.

Absolutely thinking the same thing. I’m afraid that whatever happens this off-season might send this team into the depths of hell for a very long time.

Gotta be honest. I'm not really interested in anything Fletcher has to say at this point. I want to see action and lots of it! This team was dreadful to watch this past season and it needs to be fixed! It's one thing to lose games, but an entirely different story when you lose as a boring and passive hockey team. Thanks!!

I put little stock in any of it, all GM speak. Nothing of substance which is to be expected.

I really doubt that he would admit making the mistake of giving Vegas assets to not choose certain players. He has learned from it, but just won't admit it wasn't too smart. BTW, quite a few GMs did the same thing. I think the league as a whole learned from it.

I am not. I did not take it the same way. He basically said no because this situation is much different. I dont expect him to move anyone significant like he did in MIN

Get ready to be disappointed. Not much cap space available, lot of bad contracts that can't be moved, and young players who have had their trade value plummet.
Seattle will probably take a player with a small cap hit too.

All you can do is go by Fletcher's body of work. And it leaves a lot to be desired to say the least.

My thoughts exactly. Its also somewhat disingenuous to say that they have less time to prepare for this draft.

I do not understand why the prevalent thinking is that they are going to shed a burdensome contract to Seattle.

Reading between the lines he said the 4th line was too young. So can we expect more Nate Thompson plugs? Or aging vets?

I didn't think they were too "young"

Flyers can sweeten the pot for Seattle but what substantial pieces can they entice them to take Jake with. You’re probably talking about flat out giving away a 1st +.

I won’t be shocked if they end up taking Hagg or NAK.

Just read the transcript. There might be reasons for it, but the vast, vast majority of seems to be a boatload of benumbing blah.

I don't think they need to sweeten the pot, last time Fletcher did that he got screwed agreeing with McPhee to trade them a young Alex Tuch to take Haula. Looking back, that was a mistake imo.

Just expose your players and if they take them, they take them. Our system isn't good enough to deplete it of any good young assets.

I was halfway watching the press conference live and started reading the transcript this morning. Pretty boring stuff. What was the point of it? Just to remind fans that the Flyers still exist?

NAK stinks and offers little to no value. Hagg I can def see it happening. Or Braun.

I don't see it happening. Guess we will find out a week from today.

If you were expecting him to commit to anything, then the expectation is the issue. I was pleased with a lot of what Fletcher said and agree with his outlook on certain things. For example, I have said multiple times that it is important to react to what happened last season but to not overreact. Fletcher mentioned they have to be careful not to overreact to what happened last year. He is exactly correct on that.
