The Sharks are probably the worst assembled team in the nhl at the moment. I can't see how they'll be able to be competitive within five years, at the earliest.

Even retained salary nobody is going to bring a cancer like Kane into their dressing room. He hasn’t changed even after how many chances? This point SJ is stuck with him.

Coming out of a pandemic year with very low ticket sales and revenue, do you really think ownership will simply give away $10 million by retaining salary?
I don't think that is realistic at all...

Seattle has to pay a 650M expansion fee to the league to be divided equally among 30 teams. So yeah, I could see it happening.

That fee won't cover the losses the League suffered this year. But they might take Kane since they need to reach the Cap floor. They are probably the best chance to take this problem off their hands...

As an Oilers fan, I would definitely have time for Hertl. Maybe retain some salary and exchange some picks / prospects and that seems like a good fit.

Not sure if he'd want to come to Edmonton though.

San Jose is one of the worst position as a team can be in. They have two expensive dinosaurs on the backend and upfront a $7 million cancer as well as other expensive pieces not worth the trouble.
They will be stuck waiting for a change for at least three years

Doug Wilson put the Sharks in this mess so I wouldn't trust him(or his son Assit.GM) to do a rebuild. I wondering how many fans will come back for season tickets
