Another potential piece for the big package going to Buffalo for Eichel!

There Is no way to analyze this trade accurately when two future picks are Involved. This Is a blog for 2 or 3 years from now.

Can anyone tell me why we overpaid for a more expensive Trevor Moore? He produced roughly the same the past 2 years on a more offensive minded Nashville team.

I just find it interesting mostly from an expansion draft ramification

the Kings traded 2nd and 4th round picks to the Rangers for Lias Andersson and Brendan Lemieux

are they leaving both exposed?

I believe blake used some of the players we gained in trades just for that purpose, bring in players that could be left exposed.to me it's not a bad strategy if that's what his plan is.its not like they are game breakers.

Nashville scored 13 more goals on the season than we did,and finished in the bottom half of the league in scoring.i dont think I would refer to them as more offensive minded.moore had his career yr last season and played more games than arvidsson, and was still outscored by arvidsson.arvidsson has been a 30 goal scorer before and moore wont score 30 in 3 season imo.so I'm guessing that's why.

While I think LA got a bit of a bargain here I don’t get it from an organizational standpoint. Vilardi, kupari, Thomas are all rights shot C’s and with kopitar/byfield down the middle it’s likely at least 2 if not all 3 will slide over to the wing depending on where turcotte is deployed. Not to say arvidisson is going to create a log jam as there is no guarantee these guys develop into top 6 players but if LA is willing to part with draft capital to improve the team now, adding to what’s already an organizational strength instead of a weakness is questionable.

Nashville has not been offensive minded for most of the last two years. They brought in John Hynes a season and a half ago and he's sucked the creativity out of the team. McLellan's system is probably more offensive minded than Hynes'.

Arvidsson is a lot better than Moore. Moore needed a career best year just to produce as much as Arvidsson's career worst year.

You hit it on the head: it is only a prospective strength. Arv provides a known known (RIP, Donald) in the top 6. The prospects, while a strong group, are still prospective contributors only.
