Rather confusing report (from Portzline) given the Jackets were heavily involved (use to) in the Eichel derby , so that implies ownership is ready to spend ?

I think it has more to do with the Covid situation, prior, ownership was never afraid to spend , even if it meant operating at a slight loss.

If the name of the game is unloading salary , it's a deeper problem than just a disconnect, the reason why they didn't fire Torts mid season were the financial implications it brought, hence why they signed Larsen at a discount price quoting homegrown organizational personnel.

I don't see Seth going to the Avs unless:
Timmons + Graves + 3rd for Seth
Timmons +Gerard for Seth
CBJ would have control over Gerard for 6 yrs before he could bolt ANd Timmons is still an RFA
I am thinking CBJ will want a bit more though.
Salary gymnastics will have to occur to re-sign Seth and other Avs stars....but it is a nice problem to have.

I appreciate blog and the writer, but I am not so sure about AP here. If there is a disconnect between staff and players what's the players' endgame? New GM? More money?

Supposedly the players, including Seth Jones, supported the new coaching hire. Did any of them support PLD publicly, or say that trading Anderson was an error because he wouldn't accept the CBJ offer?

There's no upside in this for anyone, I need to hear more information before I buy the story.
