Carol Schram: Can the Canucks' blue line get better next season without big changes? The Vancouver Canucks may not have much financial flexibility to go shopping for defensemen this offseason. The New York Islanders offer a blueprint that suggests with the right leadership, a team can improve defensively without big personnel changes. The floor is yours, Brad Shaw!

Brad Shaw was an excellent hire by Benning

@Nucker

I agree about shaw. Excellent hire. The only thing I would have loved more would have been to go in a new direction from baummer. New ideas to the defensive systems will be great, but an overhaul would have been fantastic.

Columbus hire Rick Nash as Director of Player Development. Dorsett also signed with them as a coach . They like their old Alumni also.

Any thoughts on Logan Stanley?

Looking like Winnipwg might have to expose him.
Could be a steal or at worst, a younger version of Myers.

Canucks should fire Benning if he tries to get someone to do what Toffoli would have done here, like Reinhardt, by giving up picks or prospects.

Other people like Forsling, McCann played a significant role on solid teams like Florida, Pittsburgh. Guys Benning dumped for players who didn't last for more than a season or two here.

no they didn't

They're mediocre players at best - and if they were still on this team, everyone would hate them and have wanted them traded 7249409 times by now. But as an olive branch - McCanns finally had 1 decent season.

Also bullish!t, Pearson is a descendent of the McCann trade.

Interestingly enough since 2017-2018 Pearson and McCann both have exactly 130 points.

Thanks Carol! They need to make a move imo, Myers deployed in all the defemsive roles in Tanevs place was an unmitigated disaster. Cant be thinking that strategy will work again, id expose Myers to the Krak in a heartbeat.

Despite me making ccomments on him not being super visable, i definetly noticed him in the playoffs. I would for the right price for sure
