He was building the correct way though. Pittburgh had to draft 1OA or 2OA 4 years in a row for them to get where they are today.
Nearly 20 year ago they picked MAF 1OA Followed by Malkin 2nd the next year, Crosby @ 1 the next. Staal at 2 the next. and Before those 4 they pick Whitney at 5 in 2002 - DirtyDan
Disagree. He only made 18 draft picks over 3 years. 6 per year is not building the right way.
He also only left KA 6 picks for his first draft
Sabres have 10 so far this year |

It would be something neither fan base could agree on.
What Rangers fans want to offer and what Sabres fans want back are so astronomically different. - ImThatGuy
I completely understand that. I am just trying to look at this from an objective standpoint. I know that when/if the deal for Eichel happens, fans from both teams will feel slighted by the deal. It might be a good indicator that the deal is at least in the realm of being "fair".
Either way I'm sure the trolls will be out in full force telling one or both teams that they got fleeced so that should be fun too. |

Trading 3-4 rd picks for old players who others teams were healthy scratching and hoping to dump to play in your top 6 is the way to go correct? |

McDermott and Beane have constantly said we understand the past and we are apart of that.
Sabres pretend like it doesn't exist. - ImThatGuy
Who cares about the past.
Adams needs to focus on what HE can control. Period. |

He had to use picks to get players to fill spots because we had no prospects to fill those spots. |

Okay, what I meant was he wasn't trying to rush things. He was trying to re-build the depth trying to build through the draft.
Yeah he traded away picks but was it really his choice? We'll never really know but me guess is that he was told to go after those bums.
Every decision he made might not of even been his decision to begin with

If that is indeed the logic JB operated under, it's extremely flawed.
If the problem is not having enough prospects, the solution isn't to draft fewer prospects, it's to draft more |

Good, and it's a lot easier to change the past in football than it is Hockey. Adams can only change the future of this team and hopefully that rectifies what has gone down in the past. |

He had 0 to work with when he got here... He stated multiple times it would of taken a few years to build wihtout rushing and screwing things up... Guess what Pegula ended up doing... RUSHING and screwing it all up ahahahahahah.

You still have to ice a team, if you don't have prospects to take those spots were are you supposed to get them. |

There were so many players that could have been signed for league min contracts.
Its also entirely false.
Botts want Frolik for some weird reason, its why he took less in the trade of Scandella. |

He was in a bad spot when he got here no doubt.
He just could never acquire any talent that meaningfully moved the needle. He was a nickel and dimer and he spent a good deal of nickels |

UFA. Sign players to min value contracts.
There are plenty of Froliks available every year. |

Bs hank. The Sabres own Eichel lock stock n barrel.
If Eichel is honorable he honors the contract no matter what & no matter where.
And while your stirring the pot there’s other contracts to consider when it comes to Eichel.
The Sabres are paying insurance premiums to protect themselves from loss. It’s not as simple as doctors opinions and strategy.

Or dont trade a dman who is then flipped for a greater return a few days later because you had to have Frolik. |

Your complaing he spent a FOURTH on a NHL player. Go check the odds on a fourth rounder ever playing as much as Frolik. It aint high.

Is that really healthy for anyone involved though? |

He never wanted to acquire talent, he wanted to draft it. He was here for what 2 years? Hard to do much in that short period of time with what had been done to our depth. We are still feeling the effect of the GM prior to Botts.
