i think minnesota is the best bet...they've got to be drooling at the prospect of landing a true no. 1 center to get them to the next level...they also have the pieces that buffalo would want and can get a good trade done without gutting their team or system

fiala or greenway
boldy or rossi

Think we could get both 1sts? They pick 21 and 22

Nice Pach's, unfortunately they might lose Greenway in the expansion draft.

I agree with Adams on saying he wants players that want to be here. If you don't want to be a part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Yes it sucks we are about to lose some good hockey players. Adams can't change the past, he can only try and hopefully fix the future. I am glad someone finally stood up and held his ground.

Saying "we want players who want to be here" is all well and good, but if no good players want to be here, all you're doing is peddling a line to make a fanbase with an inferiority complex feel better about itself.

And multiple players have done that.

If one person doesn't like you, that's their problem. If most people don't like you, it's time to look in the mirror

Why we don't have some good young players already here. There's a decent foundation to build around already here. If you think I have a inferiority complex, that's fine, but I really am just tired of trying to appease Jack Eichel.

And, as you said, perhaps don't say poop like that publicly to diminish the potential return when trading certain players.

Yes the owners should, but Adams has been here a year, the past is not his problem. The future is.

He's one week shy of his first anniversary. The honeymoon is over. It's all on him from here on out, fair or not.

The past is his problem. It's not his fault, but it definitely is his problem. He inherited it and it's his job to fix it. This team has a massive image problem. Saying things like "we only want players who want to be here" is not a good way to fix the image when the majority of players in this league, especially the good ones already don't want to be here.

Why cause he said he wants players that want to be here. Think Friedman has done more harm in what he's said then Adams saying that.

No progress? He improved every year

He finished 30th, 27th and 25th. 5 more years and he would have had us in 15th

- Hank Balling

He was building the correct way though. Pittburgh had to draft 1OA or 2OA 4 years in a row for them to get where they are today.

Nearly 20 year ago they picked MAF 1OA Followed by Malkin 2nd the next year, Crosby @ 1 the next. Staal at 2 the next. and Before those 4 they pick Whitney at 5 in 2002

that would be interesting...for me, as long as it's not at the expense of rossi/boldy

He needs to play it right, and as Friedman stated who do we think these 7 teams are.
NY
LA
Minnesota
Calgary
Anaheim
Nashville
Columbus
and maybe Vegas

- Buff36

If 7 teams are legitimately involved, we should be fine.

Like I said he can only fix the future. And the players he brings in will have to be the one's to change the image. What he does know and the future will hopefully take care of past mistakes.

For sure would need to keep them in the trade.

Tanking at the right time requires a good deal of luck really. PIT was fortunate to get several core franchise players during their tanking years. Outside of STL, I think every SC winner since 2009 has an elite player that was at least #2OA. NYR have gotten lottery luck, but im skeptical on how elite Kakko and Lafreniere will ever actually be.

Well I am just going of what he said and trying to think of who they might be. I hope it's true and that many teams are involved, hope it's more and not less.

fiala/greenway+dumba represented some $8-9m for the wild last year and fiala's an arb eligible rfa who will probably get a nice bump...

jack's at $10m so they balance that out giving minnesota a lot of cap-space (some $17m) to play with this off season

McDermott and Beane have constantly said we understand the past and we are apart of that.

Sabres pretend like it doesn't exist.

Yeah he has no NMC or NTC, he's ours to do with as we like. Rags have the stuff to get it done, but I'm still not sure he fits there. I'm thinking it's going to be MN, ANA or CAL.

What would you be looking/hoping for in a realistic package if it were the Rangers that had the winning bid?

For sure, look at Edmonton and all their ex first overalls lol.

I was just stating that sometimes you have to stay the course and suffer for some years before building a winner.

Any player they trade from here on out, even a prospect I am assuming they don't want to be here.

It would be something neither fan base could agree on.

What Rangers fans want to offer and what Sabres fans want back are so astronomically different.

All this proves is that upper management for the bills and sabres could not be any more different. same owners but the rest of the yahoo's running the sabres HAVE NOT A FREAKING CLUE WHAT THE F THEY ARE DOING. the sabres are the worst run professional sports team out there.(BARR none) Which is a damn shame because I used to love hockey. the fact that this management team can't or won't get on the same page as jack is only going to make matters worse going forward. this is multiple players now there there have been issues with....

They better figure this out in a big damn hurry, time to pull off the diapers and sit at the big boy table or get the hell out, cause I'm about to strap the ACME bomb to anything sabres related. to say this has been a complete poop show would be a COMPLETE UNDERSTATEMENT. the owners should be embarrassed at how far this organization has sunk.
