Avs fans calling their D too soft for not clearing the front of the net. Blaming Girard, Graves and others. The team has 7-ish UFA's , and 4-ish RFA's, plus Eric Johnsons $6m cap hit from LTIR to deal with.
Trade Risto and hold $2m for the 1 year...a big bruising Viking could be appealing.
Who, realistically could they get back? - IonSabres
Girard, or add a 2nd for Toews.
They'd both have to confirm with Ron Francis to see his interest in Risto, because they're already having a problem protecting their D. Heh.

Of note from this piece, former Amerks GM Randy Sexton is with Minnesota as senior advisor to the GM.
As they look for a No. 1 center a choice of Barkov or Jack was proposed and Russo went Barkov, but qualified it by saying he thinks the Cats are gonna try hard to get a contract extension done and also mentioned the risk of trading for a player with one year left on his contract. As to Jack, "if you’re going to give up the massive assets needed to get him, you better make damn sure you do your due diligence on this injury."
Russo also points out that the Wild will need shed money out to counter Jack's incoming $10M mentioning Dumba ($6M) and Fiala (who he thinks 5yr/$27.5M extension is low). Dumba, Rossi and two firsts "would get Buffalo's attention" but the money wouldn't work.
He also called Jack, "the captain of a perennial loser," although it's a chicken/egg thing as to who's at fault. “There have been questions about his character since he was 16, and he hasn’t done anything to change that perception,” Russo wrote in a previous piece. "Perception is reality sometimes, and like it or not, that perception is out there. But... At some point, you’ve got to swing for the fences because you’re not a serious contender when you’re trotting out Victor Rask to center Kaprizov or Fiala."
Byfield needs to be on the table if the Sabres are taking a contract as bad as Quick's
That's Berglund and Sobotka without getting Thomas all over again - Hank Balling
One hand I agree. Other hand, Thomas has fallen behind Kyrou. I think getting one big piece is great, but Turcotte isn’t that far behind Byfield imo. If you can get Turcotte and vilardi and one of Kaliyev Bjornfot fagemo, or just Byfield and something smaller, idk which route you go
