JTM Petey BB
McDavid Bo Hogs
Pearson Stamkos Podz
Motte Graovac ZacMac

QH Hamonic
Hedman Schmidt
Rathbone Savard

Tampa has no choice but to trade these players and no one is giving up assets because they are over the cap, and they'll eat half their salaries because and stuff. McDavid doesn't want to be in Edmonton anymore, no choice but to trade him. Petey and QH realize they need to sign league minimum deals to have such a great roster.

It's all very possible. No doom and gloom, only the objective circus.

No, it was a bait and switch. Clark got Benninged.

Honestly I think that's an over payment for Demko, so I would take that deal as much as I like Demko.

- NewYorkNuck

The club let Markstrom walk after investing 5 years in him because they know they have a gem in Demko. Demko ain't going anywhere lol

I will go out on a limb and say Demko is not getting traded.
- VANTEL

Oh, I don't think he is at all. I'm just saying, if Colorado phoned me up as the GM and offered Byram and Newhook, I'd probably take that deal... but I think highly of Byram to be an impactful player, Newhook slightly less but still. It's easier to bring in or trade for goalies to be steady

I get it. If Canucks had a number one goalie in the waiting then sure , but trading Demko at this point sets the team back years.

How many years? Lots of quality UFA goalies, plus could always trade for another. Albeit not as good as Demko, but the tradeoff being a young top 6 player plus a future top pairing defensemen... I think overall the trade would work out positively.

But it's all hypothetical, Demko isn't going to get moved and Colorado isn't shopping Byram.

I sort of side with Ruby on this . I know Byram is 6 foot but he plays the same style as Hughes and Rathbone . If OJ stays then I have to say I don't like that combination at all.

I would like more of a mix maybe a guy like Chairot and a guy like Stanley . I know they are both under contracts but I like that style . I would consider moving Rathbone to the right side so the left side is not so soft?

I guess there won’t be any aggressive trading. Not much inventory to work with. I don’t think Demko gets traded, just wondering what you (general fan) would need to think about actually making that trade. Clearly two recent first round picks isn’t enough as there are still plenty of people who wouldn’t do that deal.

I don't know if Jones would want to come here or if Canucks would want to pay the asking price? I know it is hypothetical .

I think something at this point is we will probably return with Schmidt and Myers. Both seemed to improve as the year went on . Maybe with a coach that actually knows how to coach an NHL team it might improve with style and systems ?

Yes possible scenarios given known factors are all hypothetical. The reporting is UFA-1 Seth wants out of CBJ like RFA Laine. We don't know if another club, that they like, will come up with a better offer to them and CBJ.

Trades are tricky so the probable routes are working with what you got. I disagree that Green was the problem, given a fair playing field, he did well in the playoffs. But he did make mistakes last season and recognizing SHAW as an augmentation should improve things.

Do you think this years 28 th OA and next years 25 - 32 are worth a number one goalie?

If they did trade for Byram, he'd be the eventual number 1 LHD, so trading OJ or Rathbone makes sense... probably Rathbone as he's the same kind of player and has higher value, and OJ is a bit less dynamic/more stay at home in the long run.

Could fill out the right side with bigger guys and have an emphasis on puck moving.

Very few high picks get traded for goalies. I’m a bit surprised how much resistance there is to trading a guy who nobody was willing to run with only a year ago.

I like Demko, was up for trading Markstrom and going with Demko. But if you could get two guys like that I’d make that deal.

Sorry, to answer your original question, I wouldn’t trade a him for a late 2st this year and a 2nd next.

I am sort of pissed this year that we didn't see more minutes for young players. I find it really hard to judge a player after only 20 games.

At times I liked OJ and at times not so much . The only way you get better is by playing more and more. Right now I would be willing to trade him but I still don't know who he is.

I would rather play them for a full year or maybe even two and then make decisions.

I think once Demko played in the Bubble last year most were on board with keeping him as the future goalie.

Yes and there are zero reports ANY of these players are seeking or on the trade block.

At times I can see some real good skill with OJ and other times he looks out of his league . It reminds me of Sergachev's first year.

I see people complaining about Forsling so I would hate to repeat.

They dropped the OEL deal cause AZ wanted Demko. How's it possible, after signing him and his coach to 5 year deals, they turn around and trade him for 2 unproven young players.

Lol
Demko has a whopping 72 regular season games and 4 playoff games under his belt.

Leave the math and the sensible comments to the posters more capable of doing so.

Maybe now with Shaw.

Though the scenario with realistic numbers/AAV was to show the actual CAP possibilities.

Don't worry about it. Trading for Jones and Laine and signing Hamilton is definitely possible... but trading Demko? Not even remotely possible. That's just objective math right there.
