why can't he become a 2nd line center? playing with the wingers we have here?
he only just turned 25 - jimbro83
Just keep Chytil at that point. We’re going to pay for a guy and hope he becomes the 2C rather than just playing Chytil and hoping he turns into that? I don’t think with Dolan wanting to get back into the playoffs we’re going to start experimenting with guys to find a 2C. I think we’re going to trade for a Hertl PLD Eichel (I really hope not) etc to fill the void. |

It's funny because I might say this if the Islander fans I was interacting over the last 10 years were the Islander fans I am hearing from now. It becomes overly obnoxious when I hear from fans, who can't name their 3rd liners, talking smack and saying stupid sh!t like "see...you can't just buy a championship."
Since those fans seem to be more prevalent at the moment, I can't say that I want the Isles to win. I will say I wish some of these fans PAIN. - climbdenali12

Unless Chytil works hard this summer and improves I am done with him. I just don't see him becoming a 2C if he can't be the 3C. |

having a guy out there like Rooney to take faceoffs for Chytil is a bad sign, but that may have been mostly because Chytil wrist issues
I don't know how they view Chytil if they think he can improve in that area, but that's definitely something Drury should be very knowlegable about at least |

4C target should be Klim Kostin. No room for him on STL but a tough kid, 6’3 215 with a 1st round pedigree playing overseas right now. |

I agreed Hertl should be considered for the 2C spot, and if we even have to start comparing Hertl to Dvorak I don’t even know what to say |

yeah, I know you were willing to trade Lundkvist, Kravtsov and 15th overall for a non physical player like Hertl

Hertl is a proven 2C, Dvorak is a mystery box that brings nothing we don’t already have. |

I’m all in on Klim Kostin. He’s playing in Russia bc he was sent to the AHL (similar to Kravtsov). Fell in the draft because teams were worried he was going to go back to Russia if he wasn’t in the NHL. His lowest draft ranking was in the low 20’s but most had him in the teens. Was teammates with Kravtsov on the WJC team where he was captain, has plenty of other guys to make him feel comfortable coming back to play, Kravtsov Shestyorkin Panarin Buch. Perfect 4C with upside and wouldn’t kill us in a trade. |

No more goddam Europeans! Lets get some farm boy Canadians on this team. Working the farms as youngsters translates to tough NHLers!

I dont think that SJ is trading Hertl, he has a year left on his contract and so many other players that cant be moved, I think they retool a bit and go for one more run at it this year.
Trading Hertl will not restock their prospect pool. He is a year away from FA, most of those players get a first round pick and maybe 2 prospects. There is no way in hell the Rangers will trade, Nils, Kravs, Chytl and a first round pick for him. |

Kid is tough as nails and has huge upside. The listed him as the top European skater in the draft but he fell into the teens bc of the Russian factor and then fell even further because he needed shoulder surgery right before the draft. He’s exactly the type of player we’re looking for. Being that he left to play in the KHL STL might be looking to deal him, maybe a 2nd gets it done? Maybe something like Chytil for Klostin and a 3rd? Who knows but the more and more I look into this kid the more I think he’s exactly what we need. |

All in know is that from watching playoffs, NYR can't afford any more soft players. Every single addition better be tough......not a goon....but tough to play against, and not afraid to fight and hit back

This is all pointless anyway, I put it at 0.000001% chance the Rangers trade for either player |

Watch a few clips of him, everywhere u read it’s that he’s a skilled player, good skater with an edge to his game and doesn’t back down from anyone. I’d compare his game to a more skilled Lemeuix. He can definitely throw them also when needed but I think he adds more skill than Lemeuix did. (He was captain of the Russian WJC) |

Kind of indifferent really, but I'd lean towards liking it. It's certainly nice to have the game finish a little earlier or not run as late if it goes to OT. But I can imagine that people who work later probably hate it. |
