I'm trying to stay inside more, can't handle the heat and humidity. Supposed to be cooler and dryer this weekend so I'll get outside then.

So my wife came home from work yesterday and wanted to go for a solo walk but it was raining. The storm had passed, but another was on the way. I told her to go since it seemed like she had enough time before the next one hit. A few minutes later she is putting her shoes on I said I didn't want to turn the stereo on in case of lightning, and she said it was okay for me to push her to go outside into the storm but not turn on the stereo. Told her I had my priorities.

Been there... I pulled carpet and tiled mine now for easy clean up if it happens a third time I also change sumps every 5 years even if they're fine. Liberty pumps FTW

Edit: If you are worried about the electronics I would unplug them if surges are common in your area or if the storms are especially bad. On or off they are liable to be fried even plugged into a surge protector.

Install a whole house surge protector, then you will have nothing to worry about during a storm, you can listen to your stereo and your wife can go for her walk!!

Been a phone tech nearly 30 years. I've seen lightning do some crazy things.
System is on a surge protector that is off when we aren't using it and unplugged when storms threaten. I won't use it when we are running the generator due to power fluctuations.

it's a damn shame that Hedman is going to win because that's just how they vote (fox didnt make the playoffs). Fox absolutely had the best season by a defenseman in every meaningful measurable way except goals
