“Lundkvist's 14 goals in 2020-21 were the most by a defenseman in one season as a U21 player or younger in SHL history”
Think I read somewhere that he broke record of former prospect Erixon? Expectations should be tempered. Sure Nils could move to left, but it’s not just Jones he has to beat out. Robertson had a pretty good year too in WHL. Nils agent is Claude Lemieux. Could a trade be in works for one of their young centers? Kupari? Maybe Buffalo hires Swedish coach Gronborg. Maybe he wants Nils in Eichel deal.
Also, don’t sleep on Hartley as possible Rangers coach.

Lundqvist playing his off side on the bigger ice in Europe is very different than playing here. The smaller ice takes away valuable time and space on his breakouts. I wouldn't assume that he can play the left side here effectively...

Agreed, why I said: "If Nils can play there." At worst, opens more options.

Potentially coming off neck surgery, very wary about trading for Eichel, especially at $10 mil per season.

I could see Hartley, but don't think he is a favorite for the role.

Potentially coming off neck surgery and possibly being completely healthy to start season? Eichel has 5 prime years left on deal. I’m sure Rangers will take due diligence. Plenty of good doctors to talk to in NY.

Messier and Tortarello are the two leading candidates to coach NYR. Ek reported that ages ago.

You have your view, i have mine. If healthy, he is an elite center, question will be cost to acquire, plus the cap hit

Nothing good comes of neck surgery. This is something they need to stay miles away from.

He’s not a physical player if you’ve ever seen him play.
- nyrangers9479

Dvorak may not be the as physical as you may want, however people are slotting Strome into the 3C role which is wrong. Dvorak is more physical (the bar isnt really set high here), hes better at faceoff's and defensively better. Like I said, my ideal choice would be Jenner but I highly doubt that JD trades Jenner, unless of course he tells them hes going to test the market/not resign next year.

Disconnect in Buffalo revolves around a procedure that no NHL players has ever had, so I’m not sure what to make of your comment

Unless its an extreme over payment on our part, I don't think Columbus will make any trades with the Rangers. They didn't want to send PLD here last year, I don't think JD being the new Boss there increases our chances.

Im an OR nurse who specializes in sports, orthopedics, spine and neuro surgery.

Nothing good comes of neck surgery. Once you cut skin and get inside, there's no turning back. Its only down hill.

Ok. So pro athletes should never have surgery?

Did I say that? I specifically said neck surgery, or for that matter spine surgery in general, is bad news. You also have to remember, not all surgeons are made the same either.

I’m sure the surgeons that would be doing it are top notch but regardless I agree, stay far far far away from Eichel. Neck surgery, especially the type he’s getting, he will never be the same.

For the most part, that might be the case, but I work with so many ortho/sports guys that have high ratings and such, but Im in the operating room with some of them and just cringe. I think to myself... how? HOW?
