Verhaeghe, Gudas, and a 2nd for Jones.

Unless you re-sign Wennberg. Then just do a 1 for 1 for Jones.

We want Lundell. We'll throw whatever prospect or pick sweeteners you want, any contracts you want us to eat (except Bob). You have two PPG centers, you don't need him too

Jones is one year away from being UFA, just not signing now. I don't think Zito does anything unless he's sure there's a deal for an extension; certainly won't be giving away future talent for just one year of service. Plenty of time on this one, certainly can wait until the expansion draft passes.

More urgent to deal with Yandle via NMC draft waiver, LTIR & retirement, buyout, etc. and use his protected position to keep Forsling.

Go Panthers!

I could see Yandle waiving his NMC.

Jones is a RHD? Idk about paying what his next contract will be to play 2nd RD here. He’ll be making as much as Ekblad. With Barky and Hubie coming due for extensions this year and next, not to mention Bob’s anchor deal. I’m no capologist, but idk.
Will be interesting to see how this offseason is handled.
Zito and his advisors have earned my trust so far.

Just take tips from your state rival and put Bobrovski on IR with a hangnail, circumvent the cap... profit

I hope Columbus us hits a home run in the Jones deal, i really do, but to me, Buyer Beware. Jones is a good D NOT a great one. his value is severely over blown based on the minutes he plays.

to me he will not be remotely worth the cost to trade for him coupled with the dollar amount he will expect on his next deal. I'd stay away.

He’s worth not having to instead protect Yandle, however that may have to happen.

Congrats on Sabres getting first pick.

What were the final impressions of Bennett? Do you offer him an extension? How much?

Seems like you got to see the polar opposites that make him such a frustrating player. He can play lights out but then make stupid mistakes.

I am hoping he matures because he played like he did not care for about 70% of his games with the Flames.

I hope the Panthers are able to sign Bennett. I think the situation was to his benefit--good line mates, no media pressure, freed of the high draft choice burden, no pressure to carry the whole team, etc. I think he was comfortable in Florida and looking to contribute. He seemed to embrace Q's system and definitely made an impact (too bad about the 1 game suspension though).

I would expect him to be back. Can't speak to the $ though, but I assume Bennett appreciates the fresh start and new environment.

If he can play like he did after he got traded without taking stupid penalties you guys got a great deal.

I live in South America and was hoping to fly up and watch you guys over playoffs. Will be hitting up this board for some recommendations when I get to Miami and hit a Panthers game next season.

I think they already had intentions of re-signing him when they traded for him. His play here only cemented those plans, imo.
Maybe some kind of bridge deal would be acceptable to both sides.

Stay on the beach in Ft Lauderdale, much easier commute to Panthers games than coming up from Miami. Unless the South Beach Miami scene is also an attraction for you.

Cheers man!

I am happy with a Guinness and some pub food. I can get neither where I live.

Will have to see when the Flames play the Cats and make the trip.
