If Rhino is set on leaving and Kuzy has been rumored to the Sabers:
Kuzy and Vanacek for Rhino + Luukonen
There you have a better goalie!

Morning Hank, always nice to have a good read to wake up to. Have a ? though why would Winnipeg trade that Berdin when Brossoit is a UFA at the end of the year. |

Good question. Risto has been rumored to the Jets for so long that I was trying to make that trade work. Gotta give to get and I was thinking Bedard and Copp.

Good Read, and has hurt the Sabres. - Buff36

Murray had no answers
"Rochester coaches weren't informed which areas a player needed to improve when he returned from an NHL call-up with Buffalo. Everyone in the department was not made aware of why a specific player was drafted, so there was no sense as to what role he will play in the organization's plans and which areas he will need to improve to realize his potential. Former employees spoke highly of the way Botterill and former assistant general manager Randy Sexton built a management structure that wasn't present in the past." |

It’s almost like the president of the organization didn’t. Or doesn’t. Really know how to run a hockey organization that encompasses, a draft, echl team, Ahl team, nhl team and prospects moving and developing through those pipelines.
I guess you can just draft a player in the nhl and they can just start, right?!? |

Its almost like having a president of Hockey Ops would help that. |

I'm not defending Botterill as he seemingly had no plan/vision, but it's humorous reading the above about him when Ralph completely threw him under the bus and blamed most of it on poor communication.
It's wonderful that Ralph is gone. Good riddance. |

Pretty much, and then Kim wiped any semblance of a structure away. Hopefully Adams and Karmanos can build it back up. |

UPL should definitely be in Rochester next year. The bonus of re-signing Ullmark would be that UPL will almost certainly have an opportunity to play during Ullmark's annual injury |

I think Botts had a vision, he knew he had to rebuild the pipeline. He just went heavy D a lot and the trades he made to fill spots because there wasn't any prospects to fill them didn't work out. I often wonder what this team would have looked like if Botts would have been here before Murray, if they switched time frames. But can't go back. Need Adams and Karmanos to hit it right know. |

Nice read and I agree. UPL needs to be in the AHL for a year. And you are right, a trade and UfA signing need to happen as well.
Adams and Karmonous have lots of work ahead of them. And little help to get it done. |

Good read Hank, wish the kings blogger would write with a bit of passion for the team.generic weekly updates,no passion or disgruntled views of the franchise, and where we are headed or what's currently going on.good on you for bringing that to the sabres blogs.
I would like to see the kings jump on one of those goalies with one of our first couple of picks. |
