The team has total control. We can shape the return any way we like. I don't think the Sabres are interested in picks while dealing high end assets. I believe they're looking for young roster guys (Bjork) and high end prospects, at the very least. If it's not a top 5 first, don't bother. Get guys like Turcotte, Valiardi, Valimaki, Zegras, Drysdale, Kakko and Chytil. If not, (frank) off.

1) We played 500ish down the stretch with minor league goalies and better than 500 with Ullmark in net.
2) We get out of the hellish covid division we are in and get to play more teams that are like us (young)
3) The kids will be that much older and experienced (Cozens clearly ran out of gas at the end).

That would leave:
-LA gets Eichel & gets rid of a Cap dump
-Sabres get Byfield, Turcotte, two 1sts & the cap dump in Quick

I think that’s in the ballpark of reasonability

I think the problem with that kind of trade is that we got back 3 lottery tickets in return. I remember the trade was panned when it was made. Lottery tickets are tough.

This was the biggest takeaway from the remarks made by Adams. I for one think he's 100% spot on. Your players, especially your best ones, have to want to be there.

After Adams opened by addressing the Eichel situation, he looked noticeably uncomfortable answering follow up questions regarding Jack, Sam and Risto.

He can wait to trade Sam and Risto during the season, but I think Jack needs to be moved this summer.

Would absolutely love to hear what other teams are offering for Eichel.

Byfield, Turcotte are unknowns. Quick is a cap dump. We're actually helping them. The Kings are getting the best player in the deal.

If we had a better/top pipeline, 2 other star players in their twilight, but still really really good, and that 3rd line player had an elite quality.. I sure would at least consider it. Prolly some conditions on the picks, and couple mid rounders back as well. Context is a real thing.
