I think Markstrom was not 100% when he was rushed back after his injury. I cut the guy some slack. Not sure why they are not playing more rookies now that they are just playing for pride. Pride left town about mid-season. Time to play for a better pick.

I agree completely on markstrom. I think we all forget that before his injury he was bailing out this team for the first month or so and we would probably be competing with Buffalo for last right now if it wasn’t for him.

The way Ottawa has been playing the next two games should go in their favour.

Either they’re due for a loss (especially against us) or they fùck us up on shîtty turnovers like they always do.

Where do you see Flames finishing? We are currently bottom 5 but have at least 5 games in hand on most of the bottom feeders. I think it's a great draft to be in this position as a prospect that could be top 3 could easily slide.

I’m expecting we will be drafting somewhere around 10th (assuming we probably go 3-2, 2-3).

Personally though I would prefer to be in that range as I think there’s some good players there that could probably have climbed higher with longer seasons and more scouting available. Also in the same sense there’s a few players that I think have kept their lofty draft position based on reputation and where the finished at the end of the 2020 season.

For example while the consensus has Power as the number 1 rated prospect I believe Hughes, Clarke and edvinsson have higher ceilings which is what you should be going for inside of the top 10.

You could also think of it like if this was the 2015 draft kylington may still be considered a top 10 prospect because that’s where he was rated at the start of that year

There is also the factor that teams at 1 and 2 will likely push to have their drafted player play in the NHL and from most reports I’ve read it seems that it’s pretty debatable as to wether or not anyone is nhl ready in this draft class

Flames will go 4-1 or 5-0 they can’t get anything right this year.

Ottawa is ripping it up so we might lose those. Vancouver is eating poop, but Demko could steal the last few games of the season. I know we have games in hand, but seeing us below Detroit and Ottawa is bananas.

Possibly. What is probable is that Treliving made another bad choice in signing an aging veteran like Brower, Neal, Jager and lets the talent walk away like Hamilton, Fox, Bennet. Get rid of him before he trades Gaudreau for Thorton.

We shouldn’t be below some of the teams we were behind in the standings, but it was fun to dream about a top 7 pick.

Jagr was league min. Bennett had like 5 points in 20 games on our first line to start the year. We traded Hamilton for our best player (Lindholm). Fox was never going to sign here. Quit reaching so hard. You’ll pull a muscle.

Sorry I think I flagged you by accident. I expect the way the Canucks season is going that you'll probably pass them in the lottery anyhow.

Very well but 7 years to build this team. How many more do you want to give him?
Me, I’ve seen enough, hope he’s the new GM in Vancouver.

Your team is about as functional as the Flames. Although this would be the year you guys get some draft luck and draft a RNH at first overall!

Only concern is we are likely interviewing guys like Benning, Botterill, Rutherford and *gulp* chia, all who in turn make treliving look like one of the best in the league. It’s simply the devil you know versus the one you don’t. My problem is a lot of the ones I don’t have done far worse with more to work with than what Tre started with.

I do believe that if the right man’s available we should seriously consider getting new eyes on the situation but for those that want to see Tre’s head on a spike no questions asked I would say be careful what you wish for.

Pfft, the Flames season has been a picnic by comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if Petey was up on murder charges by the end of the year. If we win the lottery, we're pretty much guaranteed to draft the next Yakupov.

I’m not. You’re just throwing out dumb takes. Anyone criticizing bringing Jagr in at league minimum is clueless.
