Not sure why there is concern with having Morin in with York when Washington has spent the last week plus running around and taking cheap shots at people. Between Wilson and Hathaway there is all kind of dirty on the ice....and surprisingly Chara has been getting extra feisty as well.
My take is Sam is there to make sure nobody goes after the kid without answering the bell. |

I guess they want to take these last few games to evaluate Morin before they have to make a decision about him in UFA.
I doubt York will spend that much actual time w/ Morin, considering that Morin really doesn't play that many minutes. I expect Sam to be at 8-10mins ES as usual, and York to getting much more than that - Tomahawk
York won't spend that much time with Morin, because Sam will get a game misconduct for skating near Wilson... |

Let’s call it one, don’t really see the gimmick 3 on 3 as legit goals |

This! York will be up here next year, regardless of who he’s paired with these last two games. |

The first amendment protects from government limits on freedom of expression.
This should be common knowledge. - Scoob
As a humdrum pedantic aside, the technical definition of common knowledge in logic is really strict.
A fact is common knowledge when not just everyone knows that fact, but it is also true that everyone knows that everyone knows it, and everyone knows that everyone knows that everyone knows it, and so on.
This distinction has real life implications in distributed systems where computers, for example, need to communicate with each other and act in coordination.

Hi Bill,
There is so much frustration around here based on the current season let down, yet I see also some positive side here.
Do you think that based on how the current season played out can help us in cap management for next season (RFAs) and open some possibilities for UFAs (on defense)
Our RFAs to extend are Hart, Sanheim and Patrick and I believe especially on Hart side this could help us a lot. Initially I believe his new contract would be at least in range of $6-8m per. Now I believe some bridge (prove yourself) contract is more appropriate.
Let's say $3m per 2y, or $4m per 3y.
What do you think? |

In today's ra ra age, I can see why you would say that, but I* find his over-the-top lugubriousness entertaining.

Thanks - I enjoyed the puzzle.
Anyway, maybe I should've just said that I find it funny and frightening when someone goes off on non-governmental "violations of free speech."

If Hart is confident in himself, he'll be looking for just 1-year. |

Why on earth you want to pay 8m for a goalkeeper
Florida made the huge mistake to offer Bobrovsky this huge chunk of money

If he takes a 2+ year deal then, should we interpret that as a bad sign given the importance of confidence for a goalie? |

Vasilevskiy, Fleury and Rask are making bank and playing well, tho.
It's the most important position in the sport. But it's also the most variable. If you got a guy who can put up .915+ like clockwork, you just gotta pay them. There's only a handful of them out there.
If Hart gets there, I would have no problem giving him whatever he wants. But after this season, he's got a LOT to prove. |

While I’m thrilled to see York get a look. How come Zamula hasn’t played much? I thought he played well in his debut with some edge. |

Dont agree for a number of reasons
1) No goalie should be the best payed player on the team simple that he cant do 82 games
2) Also it makes no sense to do contracts longer then 5 years for any player apart from a franchise player

Scott Gordon was asked about that by Tony Androckitis after Wednesday' game. The answer, in regards to both Foerster and Wisdom: "It's about playing down here. It's not about being able to go up and play an NHL game right now. If things work out in training camp, and they have a good camp, it's possible. For our 18-year-olds, it's about the experience & not putting the cart ahead of horse." - bmeltzer
I feel this way about York. Hopefully he does make a huge impression today but our defense as whole has been lackluster. So why rush or ruin a top prospect in our system by placing him on a bad defense next season? |

I thought about this, and it seems he would really need to think he is a superstar for that to happen. If he takes a 1 year deal, (and its not going to be a Taylor Hall style 1 year deal), can you imagine the pressure on the kid? If he flops similar to this year, he is looking at a career as a backup for the next few years.
I think he might consider a 2-3 year deal.

Zero chance that he will get a 3 year deal particularly when medics are saying we don't know how knee will develop
But do agree that one year deal would be madness
