Was there any update on Keith?

What a bizarre thing to happen.

- BINGO!

Surprised he didn't turn around and hit the referee with his stick.

I know this post will be very controversial for the obvious reasons. But before writing it off out of hand as insane I ask that you give it some consideration.

Would you trade Dylan Strome for Tony Deangelo and something like a 3rd or 4th round pick. (Rangers have two thirds and three fourths this year).

Read these before judging.
https://nypost.com/2021/0...-bares-soul-in-interview/
https://thehockeywriters....021-trade-deadline-lucky/

1) Dylan is reunited with Ryan.
2) He probably has no future with the Hawks.
3) Deangelo is a 25yo puck moving RD that was the 19th overall pick.
4) He has had several issues mainly related to his conservative political issues and immaturity. Some are disputed or overblown, per the above links. (Remember the Hawks had a young player former 1st rounder that got into some trouble when he was younger, though not as serious. Cab driver incident. Young female incident. He turned out ok. Remember at the time many people on this board were saying dump him for whatever you could get. Of course the talent level of the two is night and day. He turned out ok.)
5) Deangelo can be bought out fairly cheap.

I would consider it as a way to move Dylan Strome and his contract. As a RD Deangelo could replace Z (whom you do not resign). You give him a shot, if it does not work out you buy him out. Of course you can buy out Strome fairly cheap too.

Full disclosure Deangelo probably will be bought out this summer.

- -Doh-

I would consider it but most likely get bought out by the rangers if that is the case just wait and see. But like i said i would consider signing him not trading for him. I do think strome is traded vegas rangers buffalo and columbus could be trade partners.

I thought it got switched to JD and Gordon, who then would hire Gallant.
- LAHawk

One thing is for sure, whomever hires Gallant will fire him two years later.

The team has had what seven, eight rookies in the lineup during the season. Add to that a bunch of journeymen retreads. Can a great coach like Quenneville overcome that lack of talent and experience? I say no. So do I blame JC for the fact this team isn’t in the playoffs? I say no. Do I think JC is a great coach or the Hawk’s coach of the future! I have no idea?

Queneville wet his pants and cried to mommy when given one rookie.

It's looking more and more like next year might be the year when DeBrincat solidifies himself as the best offensive player on the team.He has bounced back strong and keeps getting better.

And there in lies the problem with our "top 6."

Give him credit where it's due. He's been coming around on old Dinky.
- Chunk

Sorry to burst your bubble above. I still believe he's a "role" player. He's never going to be Toews, Hossa or even Sharp. He's a very good role player I would not have said that last year and absolutely earning his money at this scoring level combined with killing penalties.

Not Vegas. They have been using very good prospects plus likely re-sign Janmark. Strome would not fit their style of play.

What is the odds another prospect recalled even for one game.......Thinking Slavin

Yeah. His “role” is top 6 LW. Top PP unit. Getting a shot at PK. Tied for 3rd in NHL goal scoring.

Never going to be a Hossa or Toews is a very very high standard.

Sharp had 5 career goals before he was 24. Debrincat has 116.

I HAVE TO COMPLETELY AGREE:

The undersized DeBrincat didn't just waltz in and figure his shot was gonna make him a big time NHLer.
He has continued to work his bags off in the weight and conditioning areas where now he is completely comfortable as a midget in the game.

This year more than any season he ever played did he check guys push guys and handle opposing guys with the power he now displays.
You can Hughes and Caufield all you want but until they put the time in this kid did, they cannot make full game impact, and in my humble opinion, the cat can be an impact all around player.

But after 24 Sharp was a horse. I believe he led the league in short handed goals when he was killing penalties early in his Hawks career? Played #2 Center on the 2010 team. Could win a board battle and beat any skater to the other end of the ice 200 feet away. When somebody talks about "Hossa Light" they are really talking about Sharp by about 1 inch and 10 pounds give or take 200 goals.

JC and Bowman decide to protect Dach for precautionary reasons and sit him out and the coach still scratches another centerman - Strome. There is a message there - Dylan is Done.

Nobody is trading for Strome and his $3.5M contract unless Stan provides a significant sweetener, to a team like Seattle. His 1 year hockey future is in Rockford or Indy.

Very true Rick, they are definitely sending a message, if he doesn't work out next year they can trade him at the trade deadline, why send a message if you're not willing to wait for an answer? See if he got it the upcoming season, maybe he'll take this off season seriously? Only way they put him on waivers if they get no feed back in a trade and i just don't see that happening, like them not resigning Z, but I've been wrong before, we'll see?

Well at least you are not rushing to judgment. (red font)

Sharp played until he was 36 and had 287 career goals. I really liked Sharpie, but he was not always a great 200’ player. Will he have a better career than ADB? Maybe. But I will reserve judgement for a few years.

Unfortunately for Dylan, he just can't skate or play at the pace required for an NHL forward, specifically a center. A team can hide a plodder on their D for awhile and get some minutes out of him, up front it doesn't work. I believe Colliton has given up on #17. He knows there is nowhere to hide him against teams like Carolina, Tampa or Florida etc. Hawks may even buy him out to rid themselves of that contract.

Agree. Key to off season.......
Subtractions - Zadorov, deHaan, Strome. If they move them and get nothing back but $10mil in cap space and late round picks it is a win.
Additions - Borgstrum and Reichel. Maybe a good veteran defensive RD with jam.

Developmental Year 2 (or year 7 depending how you look at it).

I don't give a poop where he goes, but I'm with JHawk on this one. What the hell is Vegas going to do with him? He might not be able to keep up with the ice crew.

Bernie Nicholls and Handzus found ways to be useful without being the fastest guys on the ice. Strome has been a major disappointment this year.

There was a rumoured trade before the season strome for tuch just put vegas on that list due to that rumoured trade now whether that gets revisited in offseason is anybody's guess most likely no.
