One thing of interest from last nights game is that Maurice’s two biggest fans were the only one’s that scored. |

Lowry has 10 goals....same as that "generational goal scorer" that used to play here....LOL |

Well we now have 7 “generational goal scorers”!
And, truth be told, if I am Columbus, I would be very reluctant to qualify him, especially considering how Montreal got a guy like Toffoli for 4.25mill/year, and he has double the goals that Laine has.
In reality Laine would be lucky if some team offered him 5 this offseason. |

I know I was critical of him when he was here, but he really has created his own problems. He can't blame Little, Maurice, and the locker room for his play in Columbus.

In a couple of season he will become a reclamation project.
A team like Florida might pick him up, especially with the success they have had with reclamation’s this year: Wennberg, Duclair and Gusev are all doing really well there. They also have a fantastic coach in Quenville. |

Certainly I was/still am one of the biggest critics of Patrik and was glad to see him leave under the circumstances and his play.
However, don't write Patrick's obituary yet. He is young enough and has enough raw skills that he may very well put it together yet.
He needs to forget his press clippings and put his work boots on! |

I see Laine derangement syndrome is alive and well, maybe we should be more concerned with the lack of production from the Dud we got from the Jackets and our leading goal scorer, each have one point in the last 8 games, both are minus players as well. |

Dubois will be just fine.
I hope that we are able to sign him long term. Big body strong on the wall. Well positioned defensively. Strong 200 foot player! Only 22 yrs old.

Let's hope so!

Haha. I agree that they can be overplayed by PoMo and he doesn't seem to notice when they are having an off night. However, they came through and Wheeler showed off some fast hands on two very nice backhands.
My takeaway from this game was Heinola looked poised and calm. He made great passes under pressure, and the entire team seemed to play a defensive game with no space for calgary to work with. It was a solid 60 minutes.
If anyone caught that TSN special where they covered the Game 7 vs the preds. Wow. That series still to this day was one of the best series I can remember. |

He has looked sloppy for sure, but nothing was scarier than the next Laine contract. He would be hovering around 30 goals if he had wheeler and scheifs feeding him the puck all season. Its a backhanded compliment, but he is the worst 40+ goal scorer to ever touch the ice in my opinion. Hopefully he figures things out but I am happy Chevy dodged this contract.
Dubois is finding his stride but if anyone remembers the Jackets past playoff run, he was their guy. He can be a beast and hopefully Jets fans get a chance to see what he is capable of. |

I've been disappointed in PLD, although I thought he was more noticeable last night.
Maybe he just needs to have the same linemates for a stretch of games ? |

He’ll be a stud for you guys. And he plays a way more important position.
Laine really needs to sort his game out. He’s never going to make it as a model if his hockey career doesn’t pan out..

Most of the Jets forwards have been a dud for the second half of the season. Exceptions Ehlers and Copp.

The subtraction of Laine made the deal worthwhile.

Glad to see Lowry and Wheeler have good nights. Wheeler has been a very passionate captain and represented the city and team well. He has become a whipping boy here which is too bad, however typical. Once he is gone, a new target will emerge. |

His absence has really allowed both Copp and Ehlers to flourish. Looking at the the advanced stats, Laine is still a drag on every line he’s played on in CBJ. The same way he was here.
A couple of years ago on the Big Show on TSN1290, they had a fan poll on who they would rather keep, Laine or Ehlers. I was shocked when no one said Ehlers. Goes to show how knowledgeable hockey fans really are in this city. |

With Eichel reportedly being very upset in Buffalo and wanting out, the Jets should make a major pitch for him this offseason. Scheifele is also a big fan of his game.
To BUF: PLD, 2021 first round pick, 2022 CBJ third rotund pick
To WPG: Jack Eichel |

I would swap out PLD for Scheifele and pull the trigger. |

His leaving will also do wonders for our salary cap scenario.
