I think they need them to justify the contract but I don’t think they “need” them for the team to be successful
It looks terrible for Skinner, and don’t get me wrong he needs more goals
But we could be a good team with him getting 14-18 EV goals in a middle six role. Especially if we’re getting cheap production other places like Thompson, Mitts, Asplund, Bjork etc - sbroads24
1000000% disagree.
I guess we only need Eichel to get 12-14 goals as well.
I mean if it truly doesnt matter, then it shouldnt matter for anyone.
ALso, are you saying that Thompson, Mitts, Asplund and Bjork have to produce points, which contradicts your entire points don't matter argument?

How many playoff series did we win when Skinner scored 40 goals?
I mean if it all boils down to one guy..... |

I would Punch Parros in the face and leave - gerbe75pts
The statement from the league about the Rangers statement is a complete joke.

I've long contended that the league needs someone other than former players instilling the discipline, at least until a new precedent can be set.

Skinner is a good hockey player if he was making $5-6M on a short term deal.
The reality is he’s not.
Which is the exact reason why I advocated against resigning him and letting him walk in UFA. |

Its not even like hey have real players in these positions. It's fvcking 4th line bums and goons who wouldn't last a single game anymore.
Like have good players that maybe have been in these situations and not because they were the ones being a meat head. |

The problem with that is that the "good" players made more money. They have better opportunities that probably pay them much more than that position.

Oh I know. Thats why they have to employ fvucking George meatbrains Parros.
Who never played a full season. Not once. Scored 5 goals and 10pts in his career best season. Averaged more than 2 penalty minutes a game.

Skinner, at present, is a good hockey player if he was making $1.5 million, per. |

Untradeable Jeff.
Let's hope the next coach, if it isn't Donnie, has some idea on how to get this guy to finish. |

In order for the Sabres to be successful, you are going to need all of your 3rd liners and rookie contract guys to out produce their value.
They have to make up for Jeff Skinner. |

If you listened to the entire interview, you had to take it in context. He said he expected the league to enforce a policy where if x% of players and personnel were vaccinated, the rules would be loosened. In other words, let's say the league has a rule where if 75% of personnel were vaccinated, you could have more in person meetings, maskless activities, etc. If you were below that threshold, you would most likely have to go back to last year's protocols.
Beane said that if it came to that, and the Bills were at, say 74%, they would absolutely consider cutting an unvaccinated player for a vaccinated one because they would look at it as a competitive advantage. In other words, bubble players are signed and cut from the roster all throughout the year. If the Bills are close to the league's threshold for lighter guidelines, a vaccinated player will be at a much higher likelihood of being kept than an unvaccinated one. The likes of Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen can do whatever the (frank) they want. They're safe. It's the bubble players that are in trouble with this. - buffalofan19
I understand that, I am just going of off them saying Allen won't be happy. |

Honestly avoiding UFA would help as well apart from the secondary roster players.
Don’t need another Leino, Okposo, Skinner |

The amount of onus and responsibility you’re putting on one guy is kinda ridiculous dude.
Especially for someone who was never signed to be our best player |

Cody Franson, also a very good player.
In fact the NHL needs a new award. The Cody Franson underlying not producing numbers award.
Jeff SKinner would win every year. |

Ok Josh we are cutting you, we don't think you meet the standards, even though you just came off a MVP caliber season and picked up your 5th year option |

It was pretty clear I thought.
Both severely overrated analytics darlings. |
