Unless Myers is injured, he needs to be in the lineup. Might as well sit Braun and go with all kids. At this point, watching the kids play is the only (sort of) reason to still be watching this crap.

At this point I would be more interested in just watching the youngsters play. AV should have just benched Hayes for the rest of the season. Let him sit on 499 games until October.

I kinda thought the same thing with Braun. More out of respect from AV is playing ahead of the kids....based on his play he obviously plays a more sound game, but I agree, seeing Zamula, Morin and Myers in the lineup for the rest of the year is the way to go....hopefully build for next year.

Why not play the kids?

Seriously, just keep the vets healthy and hopefully offers us a trade for some of them.

He won’t get any better sitting out. If he struggles, so be it. Not like losing a few more games does them any damage.

Again, unless they are injured, kids need to be playing. My D would be:

Provy-Ghost
Sanheim-Myers
Zamula-Hagg

And, if and when he’s available, put in York for Ghost. I might even go 7D vs the Isles and dress Morin in case things get nasty.

It’s obvious at this point Morin is not in the Flyers’ future plans. Too bad...kid’s worked so hard through injuries, and he doesn’t hesitate to stickup for his teammates. And how many guys in this league can TKO Ross Johnston? Maybe none.

Why ? I’m not saying it’s a forgone conclusion he’s back, but I haven’t seen enough from the other young group to say that. In a perfect Flyers world Morin is no better then 7 or 8 next year....but after watching this team this year we aren’t living anything close to a perfect Flyers world.

But Hayes was injured last game. He wasn't a healthy scratch.

The latest and greatest cap anchor that can't be moved.

Let's see what they can do for an encore tonight. A 3 game losing streak to a team coming off a 10 game losing streak would be awesome.

Have to admire Morin for being a good teammate and working hard coming back from two major knee injuries, but he simply can't play. Flyers have to move on from him.

Yea, I know you’re probably right. I guess I’m—like many other fans are—starved for players on this team that play with an edge. Skill-wise, it doesn’t make sense to keep Sam.

So Hayes wasn't really injured after all? I guess AV had to protect the coach's pet from the embarrassment of a healthy scratch which was loooooooooong overdue! Five more years of this dude and I will have to go on 5 different kinds of acid reflux medication. Add another big softie to the list(JVR, Voracek, Hayes, Sanheim and Myers). It's amazing how many big bodies this team has that don't know how to finish a check and Hayes just my be the softest of the bunch. Thanks Chucky!!

I've started following the phantoms more lately. They're actually playing pretty good hockey and it's exciting
I forgot how fun exciting hockey games are to watch this season

Semi-healthy.

Which means he could've played if they really needed him to, but they don’t at this point. He’s not tip top, so why risk anything further when the season is already wasted

50 games in a condensed schedule no one is healthy. Hayes based on performance a healthy scratch was long overdue. You can say that about 80% of the roster. Nearly everyone on this team has underachieved.

Unfortunately, it's basically one long exhibition season: no Calder Cup playoffs, Phantoms division isn't playing a divisional playoffs, either.

Advice for Flyers fans for the next few years.

Engage, but don't get excited, entertain yourself, but no emotional involvement, keep hoping!

Helpful mnemonic motto

Right. Many are banged up. Most have underachieved. That’s a given.

You could choose just about any guy for either reason. Apparently Hayes was a little more dinged up than others, as he was the short straw.

Unless you’re saying the article is either trying to deceive us, or the Flyers we’re trying to deceive him
