Carter's cap hit is only 2.6 mill because LA is eating half of it....so that would make him even more enticing for you.

If Tanev’s cap hit at $3+M is too much for what he brings to the rink what about Zucker at $5+M or does JZ have a NMC? If not, I’d expose him and protect Blueger. Given what Wilson has laid out I’m taking Teddy figuring there will be options better than Carter if I need to reach the cap floor.

I would not expose blueger over zucker. I’d honestly hate to lose CDS as well.

Carter more enticing at 2.6? He was talking needing to reach the cap floor with a high cap hit and short term..

You protect bleuger over zucker all day long.

If I was Seattle I would take teddy in Ryan’s list

If teddys protected over zucker I’d take a risk on zucker

Long shot would be zar. If he is healthy he is one of the best 4th liners in the league. Wouldn’t be too expensive.

They will not protect Pettersson. He was the topic of trade rumors at the deadline. He makes $4m/yr and is signed for several more years. Blueger is 0.57 points per game. Not bad for $750k. He is an RFA after this year but controllable for sure. Marino's $4M/yr starts next year so they cant afford both.

Everyone said Carter would retire if he was traded to Pittsburgh (or anywhere else outside of LA). That didn't happen.

Carter isn't retiring.

He approved pitt. Will he approve Seattle? Big risk for them.

Based on that list, Seattle definitely takes Blueger. If I’m Hextall, I’m looking to move Zucker for draft picks/prospects and then protect Blueger. He’s shown this year he can handle the 3rd line C and he’s been improving every year. 19 points in 33 games this year and almost no PP time

Blueger will be protected. Zucker will be the guy left unprotected. At $5.5 million cap hit, a winger, and approaching 30 he is less valuable to the Pens than Blueger. Blueger is in his prime, plays center, and is still improving. Blueger was one of the best shut down centers in the league last season. This year he has added even more offense to his game. I will be really shocked if Pens don't protect him. Another reason why nobody respects Ryan Wilson's opinions.

Zucker has a NTC. He likely isn't waiving it for an expansion team. Agreed Ryan is usually a joke, but this time he has his bases covered.

You don’t have to protect ntc. Bases not covered.

No brainer, Tedy Blueger is who Seattle picks in this scenario.

If teddy blueger is an option, i would select him. he can play 3rd or 4th line center, can play the wing, stays relatively healthy, is 26 years old, is an RFA and is making $750k this year. he has 22 points and is a +10. Plays 10-14 minutes per night. cant beat that for under $1M/yr. def an energy/grinder guy.
