but not your worst nightmare yet he didn't say the rangers - 2Real
I live in Toronto, it’s my worse nightmare. I got converted into a flyers fan at an early age. I was such a proud flyer fan.
I remember when I was in grade 7&8. When the flyers won I would go in my classroom early and write the score on the bottom of the caulk board. The flyers were always better than the leafs.
I remember going to maple leafs gardens standing outside the main entrance. Some of the players would actually come out of taxis and enter through there. I always wore my flyers jersey , hat , jogging pants, and used marker to put the flyers on my shoes.
One time Brian propp came in. There were a lot of people asking for an autograph. He looked at me , called me over and signed my banner. That’s what kills me, I had such a passion for the flyers when I was young. They never made the playoffs my entire high school years but I always had hope.
This team is a pathetic shadow of what it use to be to be a flyer. They don’t get it or don’t care. When you are getting pasted on a weekly basis that’s a lack of pride. It really bother me until tonight. My son is a year younger than I was when I switched from the leafs to flyers. Just friggin pisses me off. Sorry guys I basically told you what I wanted to tell my son. Too long of a post.

Yup same here....Maple Leaf Gardens was amazing...even when going there to cheer for the Flyers. It was always great as you suggest, because for the most part the Flyers were always better. We had seats down in the golds one time right in front of Harold Ballard’s bunker where he watched with King Clancy. But mostly we had seats in the Blues which were on on the ends and were impossible for anyone to sit in if you were over ‘5,10’.
These Flyers are no where close to the ones we grew up with...passion for the crest...accountable. There’s nights this version makes me sick to watch.

.
Your son will grow up in an age when everything is increasingly transitory: the phones and computers, the places he will live in and work at, the girlfriends/boyfriends, clothes, shoes, websites and apps.
Has your son made his own decision to follow the Flyers the way you did when you rejected the social pressure of being a Leafs fan?
If he has or is in the process, then teach him some things are for keeps. Even when his faith and love are tested to an extent when he questions if they are worthwhile. Tell him why you find it sickening too yet would never consider switching to another team.

Honestly if a little kid was a hardcore Flyers fan right now that’d be kind of weird. Like being a Bengals fan in the 90s.

i think they should cancel the season, Canucks should be allowed to have a chance to win games, not playing since 3-25 due to Covid just isn't fair. Start over next season.
if they did, that would be a winning season for the Flyers - wcorvette
They shouldn’t cancel the season or start over because poop isn’t going right for a handful of teams. When the Cup is handed out, only than can the seasons reset.
Then you have your own conclusion predetermined, and are not really looking at it like a proposition (which is what I suspected).
But, I am grateful for the way you lean on the issue.
Here is a little poem for you:
None of the books have time
To say how being selfless feels.
They make it sound a superior way
Of getting what you want.
It isn’t at all.
Selflessness is like waiting in a hospital
In a badly-fitting suit on a cold wet morning.
Selfishness is like listening to good jazz
With drinks for further orders and a huge fire.
