Ha! I like Carlsson and if he was still on the team I'd be fine but again...he was going to be without spot or so it seems...and we need more top 6 forward prospects.

When it comes down to it...the trade is Carlsson for Borgstrom.

Now Q gets to see how well two former Blackhawk dmen can help. Forsling has played well and has three goals already. Perhaps Yandle will get forced out eventually

Poor change & that screwed things up. Keith couldn't stop the 2 on 1.

He couldn't clear the zone also. He's been brutal tonight

I think we can say no playoffs yet again folks. Hope for a good draft pick and maybe free agent signings this summer. Not sure what to do about Keith, have to drop his minutes for sure and sign another strong defenseman .
- GlennL

Another question is -- Is this the coach we really want coaching the team ?

]I don't think we will see any big name free agent signing until they are clear of some dead cap space like Seabs and Shaw...and the big question is Toews.

A couple more years till they are serious players in free agency. Development is the theme this year and next...assess where they are at and then start spending money

Point is moot ... were we digging out of a 3 goal deficit? I thought Keith was fine. Who stood out tonight? Poor penalties were costly mistakes. I'd sit Lank & move onto the next game. Tough games happen for in-transition teams. I do have some players I want to see less, but Keith is not on that list.

I think they probably will miss the post-season, too - but we all thought that last January 13.

But - the season is still in their hands. 15 games left:

6 against the top three in the division.

3 against Nashville, the main competition (I think) for the tournament.
2 each against the rest of the competition - CBJ and Dallas
2 against Detroit.

They will neither back into it, or be backed out of it - they will win or lose it on their merits.

And to think the GM laid out the expectations prior to the season...but this board has been known to be crowded on the ledge...no matter if they are playing for a cup or rebuilding. It amazes me...

Even though the season isn't 82 games the amount of games packed into a tight schedule is having the same impact on the young players. They are tired.

I would bring in Subban for the third, giie Lanks a rest, see if we can get some momentum back. Also, the Hawks need to figure out their PK, because it is currently suxing and it has all year.
- Angotti

Well, I totally understand they they feel they have to hitch their cart to the Finn goalie b/c he helps his team in wins, and they want to actually see if he is a real 55 plus starter that the league has, and I am sure they torn between resting him and getting in the playoff race again.

I think the team that the entire hockey world sees as the biggest surprise, good first years scores, doesn't want it to keep slipping away.
no one lays a team sport to lose and we can all take solace in the "great season" whatever the end of the year brings.

Me? Playing Lanky is code for we are not quiting, we are going to keep trying, changing things to try and win now.
There would be no harm in selecting at slot #13 or even a lower number, because it gets them another new chance to get a dynamic player, and that to me is what they need now.

He was big on wheat germ and lifting cement filled paint cans. I think Elbows used to lift with him.
