Pfizer
- golfingsince

I got Pfizer on Tuesday. Had a headache the next day, but not sure if that was the shot or from something else. Arm was tender but not super sore.

That group of forwards isn't that bad but when you show the D corps that supports them then it gets worse.
- golfingsince

I intentionally avoided the defense, for that reason.šŸ˜

I head to work this evening so hopefully no real side effects. However, my mother has both doses and had no effects. My father and brother have had one each with no effects. I guess they all had some tenderness in the arm but that's normal even with a flu shot.

bold about the centres. but if your lineup is mostly correct, would anyone fear this lineup if you were the opposition?

10 year retool on the fly.

*and i don't just mean fear in the physical sense.

- RealityChecker

I really didn't expect this group to be a fearful lineup. I didn't get fooled by last seasons play in thingy, although very early in last years off season, I did think they might be a good team, but it was obvious they never upgraded the defense, and kept it at maybe about equal to the previous season, which is why I picked them to finish 6th in the division.
This team badly needs a solid replacement for Edler and another solid defensive defenseman, amongst a few other things.

I would really like to see some physicality added to the forward group, hopefully at least one of the kids steps into this aspect.

They beat MINN, St Louis and took LV to 7. They didnā€™t fool anyone. The core has great potential. Iā€™m glad Aquilini and Benning are at least smart enough to realize that we are two years away from being a contender. They have to clean up their garbage contracts

This kind of smart?

Their garbage contracts are the ones they themselves signed and continue to sign.

Pettersson's/Hughes' agent is expecting short term contracts

Also said they'll be combo deals like they did with Toews/Kane

If you don't have Miller at C, who else slides out of the top 6? Do you make Bo's line full defensive and try to load up the 3rd?
- NorthNuck

i don't think benning gets rid of sutter. he's the 3c. i think jake is gone.

i think bo's line gets the hard matchups in the offensive zone and the 3c in the defensive but who knows how green will dole out the ice time after he signs his 5 year extension.

not surprising.

whoever has to deal with the contracts/cap situation in 2-3 years is going to have fun.

I also expect short contracts as we don't have the cap space to commit long term.

Just not sure why you're expecting them to be able to clean up if they haven't shown they are able to through the past 7 years.

Might be the quote we all expected:

Daniel Wagner
@passittobulis
"When we talked to (Pearson's) agent, we went through the process and decided that if he goes to free agency that his number is probably the number he was going to get in free agency." - Jim Benning

Sounds like negotiating against an imaginary team to me. #Canucks

Aside from a couple forwards, most of the top 10 BPA are Defensemen this year so far from what I have read.
- Retinalz

Depending on who's rankings/mock you look at. Missing super elite forward that normally always occupies top slot or two.

You have a better bet to pick a forward with a little less risk in the top 10.

I would put 4 out of top 10 be Dmen.

Itā€™s pretty simple. All bad contracts and Luongoā€™s recapture are gone in two years. Just Myers. One bad contract is more than manageable. We should be in a good position

At this point I'd be fine if a new GM came in and moved out a bad contract or two with sweetners and bought out a couple more. Bite the bullet now so they can move forward with a bit more clarity and purpose.

Dman. And expose panic dump giraffe. One more year of LE and Lou, frees up a lot for those beidge contract guys

You go ahead and take Juolevi over Tkachuk no matter what.

I think Sutter will also be back, they have no centre depth, but I think he is the 4th line centre at about 1.5-2 million.

More than anything, Green and his staff and dreadful systems need to go.

All bad contracts currently on the books will be gone. But if it's still JB at the helm, he's going to continue to sign the type of contracts we've seen the past 7 years. So, it will always be a constant level of cleaning up.

I don't disagree if you mean big contracts as I have my reservations with both players.

However I don't think you can point and say great core if you don't think those two are long term fits. Either way it's a risk, but 6 year deals would buy up some UFA years and possibly be a discount during years 3-6.

The problem is, we can't overpay now because of the bottom 6 garbage.
